Wind noise from roof during test drive

I'm thinking about getting a 4runner in the near future. I took on for a test drive yesterday and there was a very loud wind noise coming from the roofrack area. The noise was audible from about 25 mph and up. Is this a common problem? Or could it be how the roofrack was positioned? It was pretty loud even the salesman said something about it.

On a previous test drive I didn't hear the sound at all. I'm just hoping this a isolated issue since I really liked the 4runner.

If the cross members are positioned incorrectly, it can cause some noise. There are markings on the factory roof racks to indicate the optimum place to avoid noise.
