When searching for parts, Ive been seeing only two trim levels for the 1986 4runner model year - the Deluxe and the SR5. I know I dont have an SR5, but I dont have many options so I doubt I have a Deluxe either.

Can anyone post a picture of a window sticker, or know of more trim levels? If there are more trim levels in existence, why arent parts shops distinguishing between them?

I still own a 1985 Deluxe but my wife used to drive a 1986 SR5 and we had both at the same time. Those are the only two trim levels. I'm not sure about the '86 but on the '85 the Deluxe has a non-split rear bench seat. The reason Toyota imported the Deluxe version is that they could import it without a rear seat and install one in the US. By importing it that way they didn't have to count the Deluxe version against their "car" quotas. Instead it counted as a truck and either the trucks didn't have a quota or they were way under their quota.

The 1985 deluxe has vinyl instead of carpet, no tachometer in the gauge cluster, no lumbar adjustment in the front seats, non-split vinyl rear bench without headrests, and no altimeter/inclinometer on the dash. Other than that, it's the same.

Ive been told mine is definitely a Deluxe model, but it has a very nice SPLIT, fold-flat rear seat with headrests.

The solid rear bench may have only been installed in the '84 and '85 Deluxe models. Do you have an instrument cluster with speedometer and tach or just a big speedometer with idiot lights? If you have the tachometer, split rear bench and carpet throughout then I would say it's an SR5.

I have the simple instrument cluster with speedo only, no tach. Carpet up front and in front of rear seats, but cargo floor in rear is vinyl matting. Deluxe is what Im thinking. thats fine. I love her! :)
