I can now say without a doubt, do NOT buy the AVS in channel. They don't fit well and block the window from rolling up and kick in the safety roll down feature.

I'm about to contact autoanything and return the AVS and order the Weathertech's.

I have the AVS and have only had issues with auto-down feature once or twice in about 3 months. I don't worry about it too much, and live with it. They're a solid addition no matter what you go with.

Go with weather tech in channels. Just keep the widows up for like a week after install and they will have no problems. Mine don't sound or feel any different rolling them up

I actually think this is a problem with all "in-channel" window visors. I got some from a guy off of a local facebook consign group for only $10 and even through it blocks the window from rolling up on the front passenger side, the others seem to still work ok.

*Keep in mind if you try to use the auto window roll-up feature, it wont work because the pressure just makes the window roll back down, an easy way to fix this is just to manually roll up the window. Other than that it seems to be ok, at least im ok with the overall situation (for lack of better terms) and don't find it to be a bother since I saved about $50 overall!

Here is my wind visors, I forgot the name of the brand but I think it was just another 3rd party off-brand...

the arrow points to the corner that is pushed in between the channels, not allowing the window to roll-up all the way, easy to just push the visor out a tiny bit and roll up the window with the other hand, could be kind of a problem, but it really doesn't phase me much...

I highly suggest NOT in the channel. As they have in the past on numerous personal vehicles been a problem. I now go with the outside 3m stick on. And love the look

Agreed, they are good, but definitely had this issue as well

Just to add as personal preference, I'm also finding that many of these in-channel types are very low profile. I found that I don't like that and actually prefer the ones that stick out further for 2 reasons.

First they allow you to open your window a bit more and let rain or even morning dew drip down outside of the door skin instead of pouring it directly onto your arm.


Second, they allow you to actually clean your window. The low profile ones I can't get my hand between the visor and the window well enough with a sponge or mitt to clean the window.


I'm on the hunt for stick on ones that blend nicely.

My AVS in-channel works perfectly. Y'all must have installed yours incorrectly, as I did during a test fit before final application.

I agree with the in channel also engaging the auto roll down feature, and not being able to roll down the windows as much. I went with WADE, similar to this

Same here.

I ordered these a few months ago. I had problems with the auto safety feature on the drivers window. I realized that if you don't let the auto roll up kick in by rolling the window up in short bursts manually with one hand and pushing up on the window with the other you shouldn't have any problems.

Went with the 3M type as well. Used the in channel style on my previous Yukon for a while and hated them for same reason others here are mentioning.

The previous owner of my car had some installed. They were cracked and looked like hell. I ripped that junk off

So since Auto Anything absolutely refused to take back the AVS in-channel since I had "started the install process", rather than be out $70 I decided to make the best of what I had.

I ended up having to shave anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" off several of the flanges to get them to seat all the way in the channel. I just ran them along my disc sander and then knocked off the burr with a utility knife. Directly from AVS they would not seat all the way in which is part of what was causing the bow and blockage. It appears they also decided to omit the double side tape from both ends and only lined the length of each. So I picked up some good old 3M indoor/outdoor which is basically what they used on the rest and added it to both ends on each one.

I got them in and pulled them out of the way of the window to roll the windows up. Left it that way for 2 days before trying the windows. Now I'm able to roll the windows up and down with no problem.

Just a little help if someone finds themselves in a similar situation.
