Window Visors

Hello,

I am planning on purchasing window visors, but unsure about which one to purchase. I am torn between two, Weather Tech PN: 82317 and AVS PN: 194924. Both are in channel, but reading reviews. I am getting almost the same response as they are causing people trouble with the automatic window. Would anyone please share photos and experience if you have any of these installed? I am leaning more towards AVS because it is half the price.

I've had the weathertechs in a previous 4th gen and also a Land Cruiser. Both had issues with the automatic Windows and had the rears fall out a couple times in both vehicles. (Yes installed according to their directions) I bough Wade in channels this time from AutoAnything for $40. They are much better quality than the weathertechs and much cheaper price wise.

Check out the AVS brand, 194924. Had a set in my prior 04 and have a set in my 08 for 6yrs now.

No problem with the in channels or the windows. Used the window when first installing to press them in place overnight and have worked great.

yeah thats the one i had my eye on.

My windows are up, night shots suck also. And take into they are 6 yrs old. Mine has a crack line that just started by the drivers side mirror, but, that's the side that takes the sun from my parking spot also. Need to get another set.

I have avs shades that attach to the exterior of the door, never cared for the in the track style they interfere w the window mldg

Toyota offers(ed) a set of 4 visors for JDM HiLux Surfs (japanese 4Runner). There is a vendor on ebay that sells them for about $400. Laugh all you want, I got them and LOVE THEM. They hold up very well, they haven't faded in the 5 years they've been installed, no leaks and basically look brand new. They are much bigger than any visor offered in the US.

Years ago I tried weather tech's in channel visors and hated them. They would always make the window go "clunk" when they closed and occasionally came loose. The AVS you can get anywhere are ok I suppose. I installed AVS for my brother's RAV4 and they are leaking a little, but are very faded. I want to say those were something like $45 (can't remember).

Here is the best pic I have of them:

i have weathertech on a sequoia and the rears fell out. on my 4runner i also have weathertech in channel and have no problems at all. clean the channel before install and you will have no problems with them falling out. i also installed them on a hot day and did not roll down my windows for a week after install and they fit with no problems with the auto up

which ones did you have?

i had the weathertech, the front fell out after 5 years i think, luckly i was able to stop my truck and got out and picked back up. the rears never failed, i never had a problem with the window, they always operated fine, never cause my window to auto jam.

I have the WeatherTech visors and I hate them. They rattle over every bump and also when I leave the windows cracked and close the door. I think I'll be picking up the AVS or Wade shortly.

You get used to it. It's tinted, but not to the point you can't see. The size allows you to open the window a good amount without water (even in a downpour) getting in. I might even order another pair just in case these somehow get damaged.

I can take more pictures if anyone wants.

I want some window visors but they all seem bulky and don't last long. Do any make ones similar to the low profile visors on the 5th gen?
