Windshield Haze w/ Rain

I'm having a problem with windshield hazing when I use the windshield wipers. When the wiper makes a pass over the windshield, it creates a haze that last for just a second and then it disappears as if it evaporates. Then when the wiper makes another pass, the cycle starts over. Wiper cleans the windshield, haze appears, haze disappears, wiper cleans windsheild, etc..

The problem is really bad at night when meeting oncoming traffic. The combination of haze and headlight glare makes it impossible to see the road. What can I do to fix this problem? I Any thoughts?

I don't treat my windows at all, they get an occasional Windexing but usually just normal car wash.

Any recommendations, Im trying to stay away from Rain-X due to streaking when using the wipers.

I use rain x never had a problem with streaking and will definately fix the problem that you are having. Good Luck

I had streaking with Rain-X until today when I bought a set of Rain-X wipers retail about $20. The streaking is gone, but I still get some what of a haze. Good luck let me know if Rain-X works for ya.

That's what I'm worried about, Im going to try deep cleaning it before anything. Things Im going to try before RainX

I don't treat my windows either. I get no hazing when it rains/snows. I use Prestone De-Icer (yellow) for my reservoir along with the defroster plus bottom (80-85 degrees) on. And during the summer, i use the (green) Bug Remover.

eskimochaos, try the rainex washer fluid. I have never had streaking or hazing when using it and it acts just like the stuff you wipe on the window that gets hazy.

Well just went to PepBoys and got Stoner Invisible Glass and RainX. Applied the stoner twice than the RainX twice. The RainX definitely works but there is still some hazing with initial testing (throwing water from water bottle on windshield) it is supposed to rain sometime this weekend, I will report back then. If this doesnt work, I heard its a ***** to remove RainX from the windows.

Well just went to PepBoys and got Stoner Invisible Glass and RainX. Applied the stoner twice than the RainX twice. The RainX definitely works but there is still some hazing with initial testing (throwing water from water bottle on windshield) it is supposed to rain sometime this weekend, I will report back then. If this doesnt work, I heard its a ***** to remove RainX from the windows.

I find that when you first put Rain-X on the windshield, it can haze. You can remove it by lightly spraying with water, then polishing with dry newspaper. Once you remove the haze, I've never had it haze during a rain.

Just went from 8 month old Bosch Icons to Bosch Excel + thinking that was the problem - it wasnt.

Not sure about smog up here but I know the CA sun/heat kills rubber pretty quickly. Hardens that nice flexible blade edge in no time... by mid-summer my new wipers are already shot and barely good enough for windshield washing duty.

I find that car washes with the wax treatment will cause haze.

Windex and windex the blades. The blades hold crap in them, clean them very well.

Don't know about PepBoys but most grocery stores have it,normaly it'll be with the other cleanser types like SOS and Comet. One thing I've learned is when you use it keep it good and wet and rinse it well. It's too mild to scratch but rough enough to cut the build-up.Can't remember just where I first heard about it, may have been on one of the ''car nut'' sites like Autophia or AutoGeek......good luck!
