Windshield Wiper Replacements

For normal road driving in all weather conditions, what is the best wiper blade replacements to get? I have noticed that many name brands don't list the smaller 12 inch rear wiper blade replacement. Are they available?

AND….

How do you remove/replace the rear wiper blade on a 2008 4Runner?

Best front replacement for me so far has been OEM from Toyota dealer (Costco customers get 15% discount with printed online coupon).

For the back window, I bought a OEM Toyota blade off amazon for like 4 bucks. Works great. For the front I have Bosch Icon and they work even better. As far as how to get the back blade off, if I remember correctly you just pull it and it kind of slides out then you slide the new one in.

Costco has the Goodyear beam blade style complete wiper blades for like $7 or $8 apiece. Best deal around.

OEM for the rear, although if you live in a state with crappy winters, none of the rear blades work worth a darn with snow, salt, ice and heavy dirt on them.

Coming from the Costco blades, I just got a set of Bosch Icons and they work amazing. They are completely silent and smooth and leave not even a hint of a streak. Costco ones work great too, but this is a whole new level. We'll see how long they last though.

Thanks for bringing this topic up as I need to replace my rear blade as well.

Did my rear insert yesterday... $4 from my dealer. No one else had replacements for the rear locally.

I would reccommend the Rain-X latitude over Goodyear blades. The goodyears lasted about 6months for me before cracking. My current set of rain-x have been on for over a year with no problems and minimal deterioration. Just make sure to flip them on the connector every couple of months to ensure even wear. I've also had the Bosch blades which were good too.

I run the OEM style wipers. The rear wiper I bought off Amazon for about $8. Amazon Prime got it to me the next day for free.

The rear wiper I bought was the Trico 12F style. No local auto part stores had it in stock.

went to the Toyota dealership in town Saturday looking for the replacement rear blade and they just gave me one! Pretty good guys there.

Yeah, it's weird, but I cannot find replacements for the rear in the Houston area. I went to Walmart and Autozone and not even the books with the individual manufacturers' part numbers list any for the rear? What gives?

I want to say that they (toyota) don't stock them.

Comes with entire assembly. On Partznet for about $17. Love it. :bowl:

So far I've only used Bosch Icon blades on mine and they are outstanding. They last a lot longer than any other blade. I put them on my girlfriends car and haven't had a complaint. You can buy them at walmart. Highly recommended.

Michelin or Bosch blades for us. Both have been good, I usually buy which ever one has a coupon or is on sale.
