Do I ever hate that 4 letter word: B-E-S-T
It all depends on where your car sits most of the time (indoors or outdoors, shade or direct sun), what the ambient temperatures are, etc.
I think the more expensive blades might work for you if the rubber can survive harsh conditions better than the cheap ones. In my case, I get the cheap blades (Roberk?) from Walmart since my car sits in the garage or in the shade and isn't subjected to extreme heat as much as most others. They're inexpensive ($3-4 range if I recall) and last about 1 year before I have to change them.

They come with a 5 year warranty. I've been running them on my jeep for much longer than that! They are not made from rubber....they wont rot and wont chatter.

Sweet, I'm going to give these a try when my rainx goes bad. How's the performance besides the long time frame?

I'm a bit leary when it comes to something that could appear to be a gimmick so I was a little iffy about trying the Bosch Icons (Rain-x,one piece design thingy) but after a year I'm quite pleased and they do resist freeze up even better than the rubber shielded old style version which really never were that great.
The 1 piece design isn't impervious to freeze up but it sure happens alot less and it takes alot for them to freeze up period. After a year mine still sweep clean with no streaking and they even work better at high speeds than traditional blades.

I bought Valeo blades, which are like the Rain X and Icon. Buy one get one free from Tirerack.

i thought my oem wipers were great, then switched to PIAA super silicone. They started making a lot of noise so I got Valeos, which have been better. I'm pretty sure that the reason why my wipers have been making noise is because of the windshield itself. I installed my used PIAAs on my gf's is300 and they work perfectly without any noise!

just get the Goodyear 1-piece wipers form Costco for $8 each, same as the RainX and Boch Icon but less than half the price compare to $20 each.

ive had the best performance by replaceing them every year , the winter always seem to ruin them. ive used the real cheap ones to real expensive brands, & they all dont last more than 2 years. when theres ice or snow frozen on the blades or windshield, & were in a hurry, people have a tendency to slap them a few times, or run them over the windshield ice with the defogger on til it melts, all that helps to mishape & ruin a blade, so i say, get the cheapest & replace every 12 months, thats whats recomeneded anyway. http://www.indiacar.com/techqa/wipers.htm
