winter gas gone for the year?

so. i just filled my tank again (second time since monday morning), and i checked my gas mileage as i do every tank. you guys ready for this? 23.53mpg!!!!!!!!!! that is running at 80mph, with 87octane! i love this stuff! haha. that is roughly a 3.53 mile increase in just one tank! not to mention i am only paying $2.06 for shell up here in southern new hampshire. back at home near boston, it is $2.32 for shell! i guess there is a bonus to working so far away. haha. anyhow, i was just curious if anyone else here in new england has seen the same results.

Hmm, I was excited to pay $2.29 for regular in Upstate New York, instead of the $2.39 I have been paying lately...damn NY taxes.

i suppose it is all in what you can afford. after all, the only vehicles i see at the run down, no name places are old, rusted out jeeps, and the oh so desirable geo metra! haha

my dad a I used to be the same way, we always saw "tru-blue" at very cheep prices on the way down to VA, and my dad did some research and found out most, no-name gas stations are parent owned by a major company

i will still stick to the name brands. just the peace of mind that if the station is newer, then the tanks are newer. whether or not it is true, i don't much care. as i said, peace of mind. i guess this falls under the "smoke 'n mirrors" phrase.
