Wiper Fuse blowing

I have a 96 4runner SR5 the wiper fuse keeps blowing. The plug on the motor looks like it has been burnt so I unplugged it. I replaced the fuse and as soon as I turn the key on the fuse blows. Anybody have any idea. I think it's got to be a short in a hot wire from the ignition.

Well yes if it is blowing instantly, it is the rare case of an ACTUAL short to ground.

Now just to clarify, it is blowing the fuse even with the connector disconnected right?

Please inspect the connector and make sure none of the wires inside it are touching each other, this shouldn't be an issue but good to verify.

The NEXT thing you need to do is disconnect the washer pump and test it again, lastly you should disconnect the switch and test again. If it still blows the fuse then we can trace the power supply.

Connector 3A at the junction block near the steering column tube under the dash is where you'll go next. Check it all out and get back to us!

Yes it blows with the connector unplugged. There was a bare spot on on of the wires so I covered it with tape. Do I disconnect the washer and switch under the dash

Washer pump, at the reservoir. First then retest.

2nd, the switch, at the steering column. then test again.
