Wiring for factory add-ons?

Been considering this since I bought my 4R, as one of the main things I miss about my Jeep is a compass readout. (Seems stupid, I know. But for some reason I just like to know what direction I'm driving...)

Do the overhead consoles come pre-wired for the auto-dim mirrors? I did some poking Round, and there's a slot for the wiring, but don't want to buy/tear things apart if it won't be worth my time.
