Wiring for lighted running boards?

Good to hear from you again....I didn't forget about the club ideas! It's the new job, they've got me in a ton of training and I haven't been able to catch up.
I have the boards on, but the wiring isn't hooked up. Do you have the answer to my question above? I have a feeling I'll be at the dealer soon trying to buy the harness. If that's the case, I may take you up on the install offer.

I actually had that printed out for my installation. I got them on and figured I'd go back and wire it later. It looks like the Harness comes with the boards if you purchase new. Unfortunately, the harness wasn't removed by the seller and I think I'll need to purchase one. Unless, they all have it already wired in? I was just hoping someone knew before I spent the money. Thanks again.

I don't think the harness is there already. If you didn't have lighted boards stock, then you very likely don't have the required plugs and associated wiring. I've never looked at the wiring diagrams to see where the lights boards hook up. If you're lucky it's a dedicated harness that you can just add on. If not, then you may have to do a custom job to make them work. Either way, it shouldn't be a huge problem.
Take a peek at the wiring diagram and should become clear. If it's a dedicated harness, perhaps the seller will 'give' it to you.

You can probably do one better than that. Search these forums. The 03 wiring manual (mostly the same as 04) was posted around here a while back. In there you can sell which harness the plugs were on and where they connect to. You should then be able to tell if it was a completely seperate harness or not.

It is really pretty simple if you know which wire to tap into.
I don't know your level of knowledge so I will assume you are beginner just as I am
1) Locate a 12 volt constant source. This almost always will be a RED wire. Use a meter or 12volt tester to find a wire that has 12 volt even with the switch off. I used a wire I located under the glove box. I used the same wire and ran it to both RB.
2) Now that you have Power you need a switched source so the boards will light when the doors open. Remove the kick plate on both sides of the vehicle, I'm not sure of the correct name of this piece but it is the plastic cover on the floor beside the front seats that covers the wire channel.
3) On the driver side find the large bundle of wires wrapped together. Carefully cut the bundle open you need to find a HOT PINK w/BLACK STRIPE wire and tap into it.
4) On the passenger side you need to do the same thing but tap into a LT PINK w/BLUE STRIPE.
That's all there is to it. I ran the wires from the inside through a grommet somewhere around where the seats bolt to the floor.
There may be a better way to do this but I got no replies when I posted for help with the wiring so I figured it out myself. If you need any more help let me know.
