I am replacing the factory hu in my 03. It has the JBL 10spk with RDS. I read up on the installs here .... and then promptly ignored the good advise.
I purchased a wiring harness from my local audio store. From a diffrent store I purchased an aftermarket converter similar to a Metra TYTO-01 (but not).
I wired the harness to the radio harness and the adapter box and tore into the 4runner, only to find that the wiring adapter was wrong. When I called around to find one, no one had one or seemed to think one was available.
So now I am wiser and ordered a Metra TYTO-01 .
QUESTION: Will the Metra TYTO-01 plug right into the existing wiring harness on the 4runner and then splice up to the aftermarket radio harness, or do I still need a wiring harness of some sort???
