Hahah Sorry guys.... I'm a disappointment.
I've actually been dying to take pics but the damn weather isnt cooperating. I promise I'll have something to show before Christmas day. You will just have to be patient. hahaha I hope you guys arent expecting me to have a 40" light bar and RTT mounted up there or something. My bank account won't let that kind of christmas surprise happen. hahah

naw i'm thinking you did some sort of cool mod to accommodate ski's or a snow board.....and i'm trying to go riding soon! haha, no worries man, get to it when you can ;-)

Well I hope Josh doesn't mind but here are the pictures he sent me of mine in the finishing stages yesterday.
Sheduled to be picked up tomorrow and arrive next Friday at my work.
Looks like I will be painting it and building the wind fairing Friday and Saturday of New Years weekend.:

Almost have the Wife convinced that we cannot survive without one of these on the Runner;-)
Just curious if you have thought of making one that is the same depth of top rail all the way too front? I don't see myself using big lights up front. I'm not put off by it, but am trying too visualize it shorter up front. I like the low profile of your racks, and think it would look nice?? Plus would keep a canoe more level front too back.
Unless there is some other aspect / design element that I'm missing besides fitting lights up there?

Excellent question rideall! In fact, I've wanted to build one like that for quite some time. I just dont want to build it, then have no one want it on their roof lol. I think it would look great myself and if i still didnt dream of some killer leds in the future I'd build myself one.

The only benefit I see with the raised front without lights (granted with the shape of the roof, it really is no higher than the rear on flat ground) is that you can add a wind fairing to it and help deflect any wind up and over the racks contents.
If I had thought about that, I may have gone that route too. Oh well, I may end up with lights or something up there at some point. Thinking though if you have sleeping bags or backpacks right in the front, the slightly taller front will help lessen the wind resistence you would experience.

I also think it would look awesome. I was actually considering asking you this when we made our deal. However, I think the wind faring is a good idea as it reduces SO much wind noise and also deflects air over the load your going to be carrying on the rack. Or at least I think it would.... I'm no aerospace engineer but it makes sense.

Also you have to look at how it curves down in the front to conform to the shape of the roof.

So a question.
Since mine will be here next week, does it come with all the hardware I need to mount it? What needs to be removed from my current rack setup?
I will be picking it up at work and mounting it there so I need to know if I need anything to make this happen.

All good points. I carry my kayak from time to time and now that my rear sag is gone I can appreciate the nearly level front and rear top rails. Plus, on a third gen there's really no good way of mounting lights above the windshield, where they need to be to really do much. BUT, I'd still like to see one the same height all around, just to see...
