CrazyDubMan all you need to do is removed the factory cross bars and all those little metal clips that they screw into. Leave the end caps off on your factory tracks as you will then insert the WMW hardware into the factory tracks.

It's SO easy to install. I picked mine up in the USA at the US/Canada border and had it installed in 10 minutes.

Good to know. I will need to pull it again when i get home to weld on the cb and flag mounts then paint. Good to know its easy to install

Thanks for the feed back. All good points. I would still do a small wind fairing. I have a sunroof, and don't have any intention at this time of adding the insert, so carrying items at the very front isnt a issue for me. I thought it was pretty even in slope from front too rear?
Bare in mind we are debating a 2" (?) difference in height and I still intend on using a faring, so the small differences in aerodynamics vs various load shapes and sizes along the length of rack I would call a wash without extensive knowledge and testing in a controlled environment.
So to keep it short and simple, piling crap on the roof will decrease aerodynamics regardless of configuration.
My thoughts were my unloaded daily driver (80% of miles) would have slightly less wind resistance, and what little difference in said height wouldn't be a big deal to me (if measurable at all) when loaded for camping.
Worst case as far as I can tell would be the want for lights in the future, at which point other mounting arrangements could be made. Some of the fairings I've seen haven't appealed to me, but at this point I've seen more pics without then with.
I do like the clear though RICKASHAY!! Didn't think I would. Also have to admit some LED bars integrated into a fairing with a simple cover too expose would be damn trick.
It has become obvious too me at this point that I need to cozy up in my chair with a beer and all the photos of the rack I can find and gaze at my Truck, and 'analyze' this further;-)

I'm interested, but I've gotta save up. Just finished a lift, tires and sliders. The offroad coffers are bare.

What would shipping for full length with sunroof insert be to 37167 (TN) to a shipping dock? R&L Carriers from Milton to Nashville might be best.

So I am pretty stoked that I was able to mount the rack with the factory cross supports in place. I think that adding the little bit extra height (I think josh did 1/4" extra) helped make it possible. I will say that those supports helped a ton. When i would grab the side rails and tug down I noticed the roof flex but when I added the supports in, solid as a rock.

Here are some pictures of how I set it up.

With it being so far back, I was able to get the landing pads in the front right on the edge of the moon roof to help give them some support. Having the 90 degree bend right there helped keep things solid.

Here are a few shots of the cross bars in place and the clearance that I had to get them locked down.

I should be getting the accessory tabs brackets and anchor points welded in tomorrow.

Couple quick pictures from today. Finally got the hilift mounts, flag mount tab and anchor points for the pop up and the gas cans welded to the rack. the rows of anchors are 15" apart which leaves just over 12" on each side. The rotopax 4 gal gas cans are 13 1/4" wide so it will give me a little wiggle room for the 2-3 cans. Should be able to get some better pictures when I take it off to paint it Saturday.

Oh and I was walking all over it today without any deflection of movement. I really think the cross supports helped a ton being able to get them back on there.

Some more progress on the rack.

Got the wind fairing mounting tabs welded up and got the first coat of paint done.

Welds aren't the prettiest but they will hold for sure.

And a shot of the paint so far.

Should have it all finished up tomorrow.

Rack is finished being painted and mounted hopefully for the last time for a long while. Still need to figure out the fairing but that can wait for another day.

I can't say enough about Josh and what he has produced. You really did build an amazing rack that filled that void in offroad accessories for the 3rd gen. Keep doing what your doing. Thanks again. :bigok:

Got a chance to pick up the ABS plastic sheet today after work.

Ended up with a section that was 24x72" and 1/16th thick. Stiff enough to be solid in the wind and flexible enough to wrap around the sides.

I was able to get a rough paper template made tonight. Should be able to get the ABS cut out tomorrow and hopefully be ready to drill and mount it up Wednesday.

Here are a couple pictures of the template. Not sure how I want to work the sides yet but will probably angle them up into the lower tube right after the lower mounting tab then follow the tubes back to the first upright.

Thanks Josh. The good thing about the material is that it was only about $22 for the whole sheet. It would be tough as a seller to make one that landed on the roof seeing as there is adjustment front to back and that would change the arch and height significantly, along the roof line, as you can see.

If you, as the seller, wanted to make a template and make some that wrapped around the front like this, I would only make it conform to the rack itself and not drop to the bottom. Problem with that is you really aren't making use for what a fairing is for. It really would need to sit along the roof line to keep wind from flowing under the rack.

Still need to find a weather stripping that I can use for the bottom to keep it sealed along the roof. They have some 5/16th fender edge molding at TAP but not sure if I got the angle on the roof that close. May need to find something a little thicker.

As it sits I may be able to bring the sides back another 6" with the material I have. Still deciding on whether I will do that or not. Any opinions? I would use a couple black zip ties on each side to hold it down at the ends.
