wobbly rear tire

left rear tire wobbles,was told axle was bent,does this mean axle shaft?inside of rim is caked with grease,any suggestions?thx
its a 2000 sr5

I wouldn't drive any more than you have to like that to minimize extra damage. Change your axle shaft with the bearings and seals as I'm sure they are trashed now from the bent axle. Did you slide into something? Curb, ditch or something?
 
dont recall hitting anything,just got progressively worse,any chance bad bearings could be causing the wobble or do you think the axle shaft is bent,thx for the reply by the way.j
 
Catastrophic failure of the bearing will cause something that could be described as a wobble, but there would be a tremendous grinding noise associated with it.
Maybe a blown shock absorber? That would cause a cyclic wheel hop. but wouldn't cake your rim with oil.
Pull the axle shaft out and take a look. Search this site for "rear axle seal replacement".
