Women???

Is this going to be one of those treads that you just make up and never talk back on? If so please stop that, it gets annoying. Now if you want to know why women get that way, it is because that is a very rude thing to ask a woman. Women think too much on their looks and if you ask them their weight or age, they will instantly take that in a negative way. Growing up with 4 sisters helped me out with that.

Ah Bam!!!

Except for you Gentleman already married...perhaps you guys are hanging around the wrong kind of women.:p

My answer to the orig. question: That woman has not figured out how to grow old gracefully and is holding onto something that she can not. ie. She's not in touch with reality.

Your welcome. Now with this particular woman who got pissy, don't go to her with what I wrote. She's very sensitive and the getting pissy part was a defense mechanism that she pulled to protect herself in what she took was a negative question regarding her looks. Just try a little more tact next time. Some people can't handle straight forward questions. (Also as a side bar: Our American culture has made it acceptable to be decietful about our age.)
Man says: "So how old are you?" Woman hears: "Age is important to me. Or: Hey you dyed your hair, and wear makeup. So your covering something that you feel guilty about. Exactly how many miles have you covered with those wrinkles on your face?" Thus, pissiness occurs. If you really like her, you're just going to have to get around her defensive barriers.
Man says: "Boy you are so cute/pretty/charming when you smile like that. How many years have you been practicing that?" Woman hears: "He thinks I'm attractive." Her answer if honestly stated with numerals will mean she feels relaxed around you. If you get a smart aleckly comment along the lines of a question back, keep working on breaking down her defense. If she never answers, just remember she has things to hide and until she trusts you will she let you know who she really is. She's just being protective, but she used it incorrectly with poor manners. And your question may of come across as rude to her. I hope it all worked out.;):

I think you should take over for Dr Ruth! I have never heard it stated in a more straightforward manor and firmly believe you should write a book! We could all benefit from more of this.:rocker:

No worries. We're not in speaking terms ever since. :D Here's how it went:

Lady: Hey Mike, i want to color my hair or get a nice wig and have my nails done before Christmas. I wanna surprise my hubby. On a man's point of view, what are your suggestions?

Me: Hmmmm (this lady has 8 wrinkles on her forehead, works in the higher-up dept, and tummy shows)..... Before i suggest may i ask how old are you?

Lady: (Pissed and raises her voice) I'M NOT GONNA TELL YOU HOW OLD I AM. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW I WANNA LOOK LIKE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

Me: Sorry, ask someone else or go to the parlor. They'll let you know.

Lady: YOU CAN'T SUGGEST SHIT.

Me: Well i don't understand why some ppl want to look like a teenager and those teenagers wanna look like an adult. Why can't they be themselves? So whatever you wore last Christmas might work this Christmas. If your hubby don't like it, then that's his prerogative.

Lady: Walks off (with her shoes tapping on the floor).

OMG Mike that's tff.....I've met ladies like that in Denver. That's why I liked rural Colorado better! See..told you she was insecure regarding her looks.

Chris: Thanks! Um...being a lady I've been forced to try to understand women since I'm supposed to get along with them. Truth is, I have more guys friends than female. Why? I don't play mind games and call women out on them all the time. Only the strongest personality gals can hang with me. I offend all the others. I know guys are capabile of playing mind games too, but it's been my experience that they don't do this naturally. A woman broke their heart first and they pay every other woman back after that. I unfortunetly too have been on that end, and thus, am very careful when meeting men now. If a guy can't handle my honesty, then I know why!

Dr. M.: Thanks! I have lots of stories from my years of wearing a badge. I've met all kinds of people on their worst day, and many on their best. You're not the first to tell me to write a book. My Grandmother is a published author, and Mom's been after me for years to write one. Be that it may, since I'm single and 33, I don't think a relationship book is right for me! I can hear all the women, "Oh ma god! Who does she think she is? Still single and writing a book to help men understand women! She needs her Woman card revoked since she's crossed over to their side and telling them all our secrets!" Yeah, I'd be burned at the steak for sure. And then Ruffian would have to find a new home. And my Siamese.

It didn't stop Dr Spock (the baby doctor) from writing books for mothers about how to raise babies. He didn't have any, but his books sure sold. My cat is Simon, he's smarter than I am (just ask him) and is 15 years old. His first day home as a kitten he toured the house then went to the front door sat down and stared pointedly at the doorknob. That's when I knew he was smart. I let him out against my wifes' wishes and he just looked over the front yard came back to the door and scratched at the screen to be let in.
Did you look at those brake lines?

Hmmmm, so by knowing the creature gave him the authority to write a book.
Interesting therory....I shall think about that. Maybe if I take a course or two at the local college that would be enough to send those women off my track. Give me just enough time to run away from the burning steak to jump into my trusty 4Runner.

Ruffian,

That's what I've observed with my female friends. The down to earth ones, which you can discuss anything with them and not beat around the bush have more guy friends than do the girl friends. They're no frills people, speak the truth and are drama free.

The complete opposite of that type are the ones that you have to walk on egg shells with and turn to drama queens in a split second.

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. They are not meant to understand each other.

Until the woman no longer perceives the male as being potentially interested in pursuing her, either through marriage or some other means.

After that, that particular woman can make sense to that particular man. If she chooses to. :p
