Been thinking of doing some woodgrain also, but only want to do some select pieces in woodgrain.

well im going to do it i just need to hear that its a good price and and i have no idea how to color match with the best wood color for my 4runner.
 
On the Site you can get a sample of a particular wood color that intrests you, I think its like 5 bucks or something, also I have priced woodgrain and that is a very good deal! Most places if you want the synthetic give a price of about 400 for the whole kit, and for the real wood material its closer to a grand or more! So I think im going to get a sample of the medium burl and look at it with my interior, I have Taupe so I bet most will look good!
 
Anyone notice any pieces missing...like maybe the entire piece that goes around the radio and AC unit. They've got all the little pieces, but I don't see the biggest piece, which I would think is the one you need the most...

Actually, I was looking at the molded dash kits, found one in the flat dash kits that appears to have everything - what's the difference?

here's the 'molded dash kit':

I think the molded doesn't go over the current molding. It directly replaces the silver trim. The Flat dash goes over the current molding and attaches using a glue not tape
 
They use WoodView dash kits. They are making good kits. I have two kits in my 4Runner: Sherwood and Woodview. I like my setup and both kits are very good quality. You can see pictures in my signature under "My 4Runner Project"

so what you have is molded or flat? im kind of confused about that whole thing. Does one look better than the other?

i see the differences are:

molded: 18 pcs. and $201

flat: 21 pcs. $166

and the molded only offer a few of the choices and the flat offers any material.
 
My major kit is molded Sherwood. I used molded WoodView as an upgrade, because it has some elements which Sherwood doesn't. Altogether I used 75% from Sherwood kit and 50% from WoodView.
Molded kit is always better, because it has good thickness and molded around existing interior parts.

ok so molded does not mean it replaces the full part? it still just goes over it?

Usually yes. Sometimes it replace the parts, but I've seen it just once on '98 Lexus (replaced original wood piece into aftermarket)

None of those kits are molded, molded would mean you replace your existing pieces with new ones. This is not a bad thing that, and these kits still look nice. Ask alex, :)

ok so here are the three colors im trying to decide with, i figured the very light woods and burl woods wouldnt look very good with my dark interior.

also the weathered burlwood ive seen with a dark interior in a denali and it looked suprisingly neat and good, thats how that one made it on the top 3 list(and no one else has it that i know of)

I'd go with "English Burlwood". Should looks like mine and I can tell you that it looks really great. But that's just my opinion, you have to decide yourself what is best for you.

It's a neat color, but I don't think it will good good with the tan interior of your '98. I'd only recommend the english burlwood, which I can also have the sr5 kit made in. : )
