World Series - Rangers or Giants?

Not to rub salt in the wounds of any Yankee or Phillie fans, but how bout them Rangers and Giants. The Dallas-Fort Worth area has gone crazy with Ranger mania. First time in history to win a post-season series, much less even make it to the world series - "Cowboys? Who? Oh yeah, our football team." Any predictions from anyone? Being the staunch Ranger fan I am down here in Texas, I will predict Texas in 6.

IMO, if Texas can score 3 or more runs in any game, they will win that game.

and yes I'm bitter...I'm a Padres Fan
 
Rangers in 5. I would say a sweep, but I bet the Giants will get lucky once at home.

Obviously, I'm an NL fan, but the Giants just don't have the offense to hang with the Rangers.

Hey now, haha. What a weird series. A few people made a lot of money in Vegas if they picked these 2 teams for the series. My bro and my uncle are both ex-pros and even though we may be Californians, we thouroughly hate the Giants and Dodgers because my uncle was an Angel in the 70s and early 80s and after that it's grounds for being disowned to root for another CA team! Go Rangers!
 
Hey Brian, no offense intended, but I could never live in Kalifornia, if you get my drift.

I've spent 3 months out there this year (San Jose area), and probably close to 9 months in the last 3 1/2 years. No thanks!

I don't know what the odds are now that the series is set, but I'm sure the picks of who would be going to the series a couple months ago were way off these 2 teams. I don't know, but I would have to guess 20 or 30 to 1 or more??

Dude, I know what you mean and no offense taken. I'm a gun owning, red-blooded American living in the land of fruit loops! I only live here for 3 reasons... my family is here, the weather, and of course the women.
It looks like my bro is moving to Idaho soon and I'm actually tempted to go with him!! I've been out there several times and as weird as it may sound, IMO Idaho is second only to CA for hot women.
 
Giants have relied on far too many 1 run wins. The Series will not have many 1 run games.


Rangers are 8:1 to sweep. Giants 18:1

Rangers are -135 straight-up favorites

Giants are +115 Underdogs

As for MVP of the Series, the favorites are who you'd think:

Rangers left-hander Cliff Lee has 11/2 odds, followed by teammate Josh Hamilton at 6/1.

The lowest odds for a Giants' player: Buster Posey and Tim Lincecum at 8/1. Cody Ross, is 11/1.

The most appealing MVP longshot is Giants closer Brian Wilson(notes), who is 30/1.

So you had to bring up the NY Giants, ....., damn Cowboys. Thank God we here in the Dallas area at least have a baseball team this year to cheer for. The Cowboys will be lucky to go 4-12. They are taking a shellacking here from all the sports gurus and fans, especially with all the expectations that we had for them this year - HAH.
 
I'm a National Leaguer but I'm pulling for Texas. Lee, Hamilton, Vladdy, Andrus, the aggressive baserunning. They're fun to watch.
