Would I be tail high ?

Hello All,

I'm considering the following lift:

Bilstein 6112 set at 1.50 front
Bilstein 5100 rear w/ dobinsons .75-1 spring

I'm running stock sized KO2s. Does anyone think I'll be tail high with this setup? Can someone with this setup please comment on the ride quality and post pictures ? Will the dobinsons ruin my ride quality ?

I've read that the 6112s can be adjusted to 1.5 vs the 5100 at 1.75. Can anyone confirm this ?

bilsteins can be set from 0-2.5" I'm currently at 2.5", but the preload on the springs is making for a rough ride. I'm looking at the Dobinson springs to fix.

For what you are thinking with a 1.5" lift in the front, I would keep the back springs stock and replace the struts only. It should give you a fairly level look. My measurements stock had a 2" rake, so a 1.5" lift would eliminate most of it. Worst case is that you run a OME 10mm spacer on the back if you want it come up a bit more.

Where are you looking for a 0.75-1" spring lift from Dobinsons. all I saw was 1.25" and up.

I think I just added it a week or so ago, as I didn't think anyone would want almost no lift, but for those with worn our OE coils, or just looking for a little bit more, we do have this as an option.

C59-238 - Stock front end, low height lift, 0.75-1.0" lift. 375/375mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

I sold them to a guy a week or so ago, running them on our long travel struts, which add 1" lift over the coil height, so he will be at about 1.75" to 2" with those low height coils, and when I was assembling them, they hardly took any preload at all to put them together. His ride quality will be really nice.

My cheap Daystar spacer lift/level is +2.5 front and +1.5 rear. It's near frame-level normal, but I recently discovered during a family vacation that there is a decided squat with a vacation load including a hitch-mount cargo carrier. I'd like either the rear to be a bit higher or the front to be a bit lower.

Going with the front at +1.5 and the rear at +0 would be 0.5 lower in the rear than with the Daystars. You might have a pooping-dog squat look with that setup, especially if you have any cargo in the rear. The Dobinsons in the rear should be about perfect. Keep in mind that trucks are designed with and are supposed to have a "tail-high" rake to account for cargo loads.

The Dobinsons springs in the rear will be a much better ride. I switched from the Cornfed spacers on stock springs to the Dobinsons springs and shocks, the ride quality is like night and day.
