All years of 3rd gen hoods will fit your '97, but the reason they say "'1999-2002" is because the factory didn't offer scoops until '99. Same dimensions tho.

haha yeah my friend said that too. okay with that being said all the hardware on my hood now should fit it right? I'm about to pull the trigger credit card in hand haha.

Isnt there some additional trim that's needed to add the hood scoop style? I think you might need to get that also if my memory serves me correctly. it goes around the edge and inside the scoop area?
 
Yes,you need the insert and grill pices and the hardware which are dealer items.

does anyone know how much those pieces are? or a site were I could get them? If anything I'll just buy them at the dealer since there close by, but I would like to save some money.

Certifit sells the hood for $56. Save yourself the money if they're nearby.

Your misters and everything will work, but you'll have to fit the hood. The aftermarket hood I got from Certifit worked well but I had to grind down a little lip on the bolts in order to fit it center. The insulator fits if you really want it to but I just got rid of it.

You're looking at about $180 in parts from Toyota.

Plus, after that $230ish dollars for hood and parts, youve gotta get it painted.

So I just got my hood in today, but anyone know where I can get these pieces for cheap? The dealer is my last resort. Any websites selling these pieces mentioned?
 
Did you get the Certifit? How much did you pay with shipping if you dont mind me asking? And I think the parts your looking for are dealer only.

I paid $280 for the hood with tax and shipping, I know its overpaying but I didn't know about the Certifit until it was already too late lol. Anyone have an idea on how much it's going to cost when I get this painted?
 
I would call around to your local paint shops. I think it will also depend on the condition of the hood and other parts (prep time). Have you called your dealer for the parts? I think when its all said and done it will be worth it. I love the look of the sport hood and will be following suit as soon as I can. Good luck!
