Would you buy?

Would you buy a 4Runner with 240K on it. I have narrowed the field down to a couple of trucks and one has 240K on the OD. It appears to be well taken care of. I have 2 others in the same price range but was just curious what you guys thought.

that's just a tad short of the moon. I would pass.

Since you have other choices in the same price range, I would just go with one that has lower mileage, even though it probably still has a bit of life left in it.

For years I thought that 100,000 miles was the kiss of death for any vehicle. My brother had a Paseo until 211k before selling it, still sees it around town. He is trading a 98 camry with 210k that still runs. If the price is really good and the rig is in good shape, why not. People run Volvos for ungodly amounts of miles, and Saturns for just as many. I am sure that a Toyota can do the same.

I would recommend the lower mileage ones if there the same price, but i had a 1990 4runner and sold it with 233,000 on it and it still runs great. If its in good shape I would get it

Thanks for the info guys. I am planning on checking out one of the lower milage ones on wednesday. Hopefully I'll have one that day :)

shawnstcyr - The person was asking 3800 for the one with 240k on it.

It was a craigslist ad in OC California, if anyone is interested in trying to get it PM me and ill link you to the ad.
