Wouldn't Memory Seats be nice

Hey guys just got the Sport. I was thiking wouldn't memory seats be nice. I was looking at the Nissan Armada.... and it had this option for the Seat, steering wheel, pedals and outside mirrors. I hate having to shift the seat back and forth between me and my wife. This is the only option that would make my runner PERFECT.

Decided to not get the Armada, because of issues I keep hearing about and who needs a house on wheels? Not to bash it was just to big to justify for the wife to go to the store with the kids and then back home.

Great! I have the same complain!
My Jeep Cherokeey (the sancuary of problems) had two remote and two memory.

I had the Black one and my wife the gray one, was really great just push a button and voila'! all settled.

Now with my beautifull 4runner I have to do manually!

according to people posting on the sienna forum, auto-dimming outside mirrors are available on the sienna...but yeah...way cool...

Memory seats would be nice...especially since my dealer always moves my seat when they service my Runner. Drives me crazy. It takes me a week to get it exactly how I want it again.

They really should throw all that stuff in for the Limited. Right now there's just no cost justification or enough extra goodies for what they charge for that model. But maybe they think the know better than a few random internet posters. I don't.

Well, i guess that Lexus wants some features to distinguish themselves from Toyota. Even the $55K Land Cruiser does not have memory seats nor outside auto-dim mirrors...yet, the $30K Lexus ES330 have them.

Is there any way to add in memory seats??? I'm 4'10" and my fiancee is 6'2" so it takes a few minutes just to get the seat back enough for him to get in Also, I don't really know of any other options, but is it bad to move the seat back and forth often??? My last 4Runner had manual seats so it was quick & easy.

Memory seats would be nice, but I first need power seats for that option! First off, I never heard of a $35,000 truck with no power seats. I could see why there are no memory seats on the SR5's and Sports, but the Limited's should have that. As for the side dimming mirrors, that would be a nice feature too. I have an idea how to correct this. Would it be possible to install a GX470 mirror on the 4Runner? It is the same shape and size. I could see why there are certain features not available on the 4Runner (wood trim, Mark Levinson, air ride suspension), but why not those two simple options? I mean there has to be some reason to spend the extra $$ for a Lexus.

It would be nearly impossible to install memory seats/mirrors in this truck aftermarket. For seats, you would have to get a seat control module (GMC has them) which retains the memory for each seat adjustment, then install the seats, power, and place the controls where they can be used. For Mirrors, you would need to have a light sensor which would them react and dim the mirror. Don't forget about the Park-Assist mirrors too... You would need a switch from from the tranny or the shifter which automatically pans both mirrors down to see the curb.

If we had all of these goodies, we would probably want additional headroom, nicer leather seats, and real wood... Hmmm... Sounds like a GX470 to me....

4Runner, no matter what the exterior/interior is, is a capable SUV with enough goodies to whet the appetite, but without the luxuries that keep you wanting more...
