Wow! Expedition Overland

They said in the most recent behind the scenes video that they will continue to make content with the newer guys but Clay will personally take a more back seat role to focus on spending time with his kids.

I sure hope they find their way with this new crew and fast, because the recent episode where they did the TAT was insanely horrible and if that is the new direction of the channel they will lose subscribers and views in record numbers. You've got to have a personality to be in front of the camera and a lot of these newer guys need to stay behind it. Before everyone jumps on the bash wagon here I'll back up these comments with the fact that they deserve to be scrutinized at this level simply because of their following/notoriety/fame/influence, it comes with the territory when you get to the level that their channel is at.

Paid for content changes the direction of the channel and the personalities and energy of those involved, it's impossible not to when the content is scripted and forced. They aren't complete shills like some would like to label them, but they have certainly lost some of the passion that the earlier seasons contained.

I couldn't agree more. I've been a fan since the beginning, but the new cast is painful to watch. Where did he even find these guys?? They appear to have no clue what they're doing and seem like they don't enjoy being outdoors at all. I couldn't even finish Episode 14.

My wife, kids, and I love watching XO episodes. We met Clay, Rachelle, Ryan, and Nate at Overland Expo East aka Mudfest 2018. Amazingly nice folks.

I think you mistook that vibe. I take it that they are simply altering the personalities we commonly see. The folks with kids will be on less. The newer younger folks without will continue on.

Just my $.02

Bingo... we have some neat goals for 2019

Our Greenland footage is still in production too!

Which members are you referring to?

Ironically the same was said for me when I joined the team in Central America for season 2. Im sure it's still said amongst many :D

TAT episode was brutal. Absolutely awful from stem to stern.

I'll keep checking out the series but I'm not engaged with it.

Well, I hate to call people out, but Silas was particularly painful to watch. Nathan and Richard were a bit of a drag to watch as well, but not nearly as bad. I know those two guys are experienced travelers, so maybe they just don't do great in front of a camera.

Fair enough...
