Wow, Kia is on the move!

Is it me or is Kia/Hyundai really making a big jump in their car's appearance and quality (or at least the perception of such)???

Look at the latest Kia creations: 2011 Kia Optima EX First Drive

Hmmm, the interior reminds me of a Saab or the old BMW 3-series (318 and 325's). Exterior is much better than the Hyundai Sonata twin. I am digging the Korean recent car designs! USB, Bluetooth, etc. all standard across the board! HIDs, 6-speed auto, 2-liter TURBO 4-banger 274 hp with 34 mpg?! With that mileage, who needs the hybrid version (which apparently gets around 37-40 mpg)?! Panoramic roof? Wow. The next gen Camry better take it up a notch or else Toyota may lose some sales.

Those wheels are extremely lame, but the rest of the car looks decent. I see a lot of Genesis design elements in that car.

I kinda dig the rims...kinda like the Audi rims.

In the first pic from the B-pillar and back, it reminds of the IS.

The front looks a current domestic sedan. I want to say it's a Lincoln.

Overall the exterior is pretty nice. The interior needs some work. The center stack reminds of those Chevy cargo vans.

The only major thing that i don't like about the exterior is the foglights. The one thing that i like about the interior is how high the door speakers are mounted.

It'd be nicer without that Kia oval on it. After 8 years in Korea, where 95% of the vehicles on the road are Korean, I hate seeing them.

Hyundai owns Kia, so pretty much theyre both on the move. Looks like a nice set of wheels imho and honda, toyota, nissan should be worried. The stuff available on this is normally for luxury brands, but i think all that luxury is now becoming mainstream. When will toyota and honda get it? Nissan has somewhat, but that CVT tranny is just horrible.
