I hope this wasn't already posted and I missed it, but there is an '85 on eBay with only 38k miles in absolutely stunning condition, with all the original paperwork. I wish I had an extra $15k laying around...

Agree, that is one clean 4Runner. Just because it has had 3 owners does not mean the miles are rolled back and not true.
My dilemma with a truck like that is what do you do with it? You wouldnt want to drive it in crappy weather, if you mod it much, it will lose value. It is way to clean and nice to off road in it. If you ever want to get your return on investment, you have to keep it in this same condition which means it is a garage queen.
I love my 4Runner as my daily driver but in my opinion, if I am gonna have a garage queen a sports/performance car is a better fit for most. I have a 92 Infiniti M30 convertible that is my garage queen. Going on 20 years old, 66k original miles and every bit as clean as this 4Runner and less than half the price.

I agree, I want a daily driver. So I'd want something I can rust-proof and have some fun in.

$15,100 and the reserve isn't even met yet? That dude is smoking crack. And so are the people who are bidding it up that high. The original window sticker was only $14,318. It's damn nice, but not $15K nice.

Think about it, if you were a dealer selling famously reliable Toyotas, what's better than a mint 24 year old 4runner in perfect running condition?

I got my daily-driver '01 VW Jetta at a Ford dealership in January, they had an original, running Model T in the showroom. I stared at that thing for about 30 minutes.

As for what it's worth, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it on an open market. Looks like someone was willing to pay $15,100 for it. Look at classic cars that sold for $3-4 k new and now sell for $50-60-100k plus.

Being a die hard Toyota guy, I would buy that in a heartbeat if I had enough money to just throw around. I don't so I will just sit behind my laptop and drool like most of us...

Yeah, that seems weird. Although my dad bought a car back in 1990, then bought a new one a year later and transferred the title to me. I drove the car for about 2 years, then bought something I liked, and transferred the title to my sister. So it is possible.
