Wrangler Authority

off-road runner

Recently purchased GY wrangler authority tires for an '06 SE at Wal-mart, load range C. I went with these cuz the tread looks somewhat aggressive and the price was OK at $195 ea for 265/70/17. They've done well in the mud and I assume will do fine in the snow/ice. My only concern is longevity. Has anyone else run these? And if so, have you gotten 30k-40k miles on them? Thanks to all who respond.

My friend runs the Authority's 31's on his heep. They have outlasted my Firestone Destination A/Ts by a long shot. Definitely a good tire for the price. Not to give the Firestones a bad name, I did abuse the **** out of them!

I believe the Authority has been out for a year or two. I looked at getting those when Wal Mart had them for $155 a tired but if I am going to pay $200 for a new tire I am going with something where there are plenty of reviews on them. The tread looks very nice but for $200 I would go with a proven tire. Hope they do well for you and keep us updated on your review of them!

I will let you know if they are crap, I'm use to running BFG's AT/KO but decided to try a cheaper alternative. I've found they are slightly better in the mud than BFG AT. Only time will tell how they hold up mileage wise.
