Wrangler Duratrac...Will It Fit?!

I looking for a new set of tires and was wondering if the 265/70 R17 Wrangler Duratrac would fit on a stock 06 sport 4runner? I'm not really looking to lift my runner for a few more months but need the tires now...WILL THEY FIT??

Or can I go bigger??

Stock, I dont think it will fit. If it does, its going to be a tight fit


I just put on Duratrac 285/70/17 and my only issue is width. I need wheel spacers to keep my tire from hitting my UCA and 45 degrees turning Other than that they fit. Oh well i also just lifted it 2 in

You'll probably get away with 265/70's on a stock truck with no spacers. But due to the square shoulder of the duratracs, you may rub slightly on the UCA (not confirmed with duratracs, but some members have reported this with less aggressive BFG AT KO's). Some people who ran revos1 or terra grapplers 265/70's reported no rubbing whatsoever due to their rounded shoulders.

Most people use spacers (spidertrax/all-pro) to clear the UCA but that introduces rubbing on the inner fender liner and mud flaps.

I wouldn't suggest going any bigger if you are completely stock.

I've also heard that...What if I were to go with a different rim, say a 15 x 8 wheel with the 31 x 10.50R-15LT...I'm not completely sure if that will go together..Could you suggest anything? A cheap black wheel with the DuraTrac's that aren't small.

Stock tire size 265/65R17 (or 265/70R16 & 265/60R18)

15s won't clear the brake calipers & 265/70s are ~31.6x10.5
 
MY tires are as square as the duratrac and they are a tight fit with a 2" leveling kit. They may rub a little, but just level it up and it'll work out.

A top out spacer is a cheap and easy install.
 
I had the same exact tire with no lift the only rub I got was on the plastic inner fender well in the front with the wheel turned all the way over in reverse. That was my experience
 
I put worn down 265/65/18 (same as 265/70/17) Dueler A/Ts on my '06 sport before the lift and they rubbed at full lock. I just got Duratracs installed and they are MUCH meatier then the Duelers and I would be surprised if they didn't rub at least a little bit. You can get away with them if you don't mind getting spacers and trimming a bit before the lift. Also figure out how much your suspension is sagging, that might be why there are so many mixed replies on this topic.

I agree with Darkie3495, I'd be worried about rubbing the stock UCA with that size and no spacers. Rubbing on the mud flaps at full lock is one thing, rubbing the UCA is a different ball park. :sobbing:
 
Do you have a good site to get some spacers??

I have 265/70/17 duratracs, on an 8 inch aftermarket rim, and they rub very slightly.
 
They will fit (and look good) but u will have some rubbing with flex and turning. Same with bfg!
Everyone knows by now that i am a huge fan of the yokohama geolanders at-s because they are cheaper (not on quality) than duratracks and last 3x longer
