I've got a 98 4x4 stick I was about to put up on the market. 3rz under the hood and in great shape. Clean title and around 240k on the truck. No rebuild on the engine and purrs like a kitten. It is stock as far as suspension goes but the audio system is well equipped. Won't sell my amps with the truck Located in 29 palms.
Ok here are the details since I'm on a computer now.
-K&N CAI w/ carb sticker
-LCE header w/ carb number
-Magnaflow 22 or 24" muffler
-2.5" exhaust to the muffler....2.25" after the muffler. I was planning upgrading the head but with the kid coming it's out of the picture
-0ga wiring for stereo from Knu Konceptz
-4ch RCA and sub 2ch RCA run to the rear. Very high quality RCAs. Very clear
-Kenwood BT901 HU w/ zune interface (will do IPOD but need adapter
-HD Radio installed
-Custom fiberglass boxes for 10" subs built in 2011. One sub will come with the vehicle but the other box is empty. Boxes are about 2.75 cuft apiece so any 10 will fit and need adjustment for volume with peanuts and expanding foam to "shrink" the box.
-CB radio installed in dash with Firestik 4' fiberglass antenna tuneable tip
-LCE high pressure plate clutch done about 3k ago
-EBT green pads done about 2k ago
-Rear main done when clutch was done
-General Grabber AT2 tires 275/65 R16. Rims will clear Tundra mod
-a/c is stone cold
-Seperate waterproof fuse box for additional accessories. Box is fused at 50amps currently.
Other than that everything works as it should. 4x4 system is operable and works well. There are a few scratches and tiny dents that annoy me but any blemish annoys me. She drives great and I love her. The name is Lauren and she purrs everywhere she goes. Kept clean and all the maintenance was performed by me. Synthetic oil and changed at regular intervals.
7,000 for everything. We can talk about the amps if you want those but they are very precious to me. I have an extra set of CDT classics 3-way components sitting around if you're interested and a pioneer premier (late 90s) 4 ch amp as well I can toss in (75x4 rms)

Sounds good. I apologize that I don't have a reputation here but this was my first runner. On all of my Tacoma's....and well Toyotas period 240k is a drop in the bucket. Keep on top of regular maintenance and it will flip the odo. I probably have about a million miles either riding in a Toyota or driving. I sell them because I'm in the military and I move stateside or overseas every other year. Otherwise ID still be driving a 98 Tacoma and a 96 camry. Still miss those vehicles.

1999 black 5 speed. Trd supercharged 150k miles. Some dings in the drivers door, some rust here and there. New timing belt, water pump, and tires in the last 3-4k miles. Only probs are needs new battery(done in next few days) and no air conditioning belt. But that works. I'll take 7k. In Virginia. ( I know you are on hold, just looking for publicity)

I have driven stick most of my life and the wife has never. I am looking for a 4R right now and was thinking I would get an Auto. Seeing lots of posts on here for "wish mine were a manual"....but I wonder why? Is the auto trans problematic or do people just want a manual? I plan to wheel it a little and thought auto would be easier rather than having to clutch it all the time?

There is nothing wrong with an auto at all. They are actually very stout and reliable in these years of 4runners. It's mostly that people like driving a stick rather than the slushbox. I have an auto an it's perfect for me. I have a 3 year old and it is a pain to constantly shift while dealing with a kid in the back seat. Plus I'm mostly city driving and it's a lot more relaxing/work to have an auto. Although I do miss driving a manual. I've been driving my brother in laws 5 speed Tacoma the past few days and it's fun. Definitely a lot more usable power than an auto and I love shifting. I actually slammed my foot into the floor in my 4runner right after driving the Tacoma because I got used to pressing the clutch.

Laughing at "slammed my foot" where the clutch should have been. I drive a Mini Cooper S right now and when I have to roll the pimpin' minivan I do the same. I still have a manual trans in my weekend car so won't "miss" stick shift. I am so excited to be joining this "club"soon. I see so many great 4Rs out here and have a friend that works for Toyota and will work on it for me, get parts at cost etc. I just have to sell this Mini first. Already I am really enjoying the forum too. I knew I could count on great people surround this awesome vehicle. Like I have said in other posts, I have admired this truck since I was too young to drive. I know there's a 98-02 out there for me somewhere.
