WTB: Manual 4Runner 4x4

I'm looking to buy a 2000-2001 4runner with a manual transmission and 4x4. I am looking for low miles <100k. I have been scouring the internet, but I am having a hard time finding anything at all really. I found one I like on autotrader but it appears to have already been sold (according to carfax).

I'm wondering if you folks have any advice. Are the manuals too rare?

I may get a manual 4x4 Pathfinder instead. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for the help!

Any reason for wanting only a manual? The autos are really nice and very dependable. Also 2000 was the last year for 5 speeds in the runners.

Yeah, your location would help greatly. I live in Northern Califorina and have a 5speed 96 sport that I would be willing to sell for the right price. It's a sr5 V6 4x4 with diff lock too. 66k original miles. I even have a sport hood!

I am in Columbus, OH so NoCal wouldn't really work. That is a really nice looking truck you have though. Ideally I want something newer than that though and I'm looking to spend say $10,000 or less. That is flexible depending on the vehicle.

I don't really have a good reason to want the manual, just preference. All three cars I've had since 16 have been manuals. I am not dead set on that for the future, but that's what I would like.

OH gotcha thats cool. I just know some people dont want auto cause there not as reliable and stuff but I love my auto. Im from KY so were not to far off not really wanting to sell tho. Just changed the suspension and stuff and added 35's but if I find any for sale ill send em your way.

I figure with $10k you should beable to find something... but if you want it to have under 100k original miles they are starting to become a rare breed.

suvs

don't get the manual pathfinder piece of shit! I owned one 1998 v6 4x4. model run was 1996-2004. they are terrible trucks actually they are built on a light van unibody platform from japan. grossly undrer powered more so than a 1996-02 4runner. I would have bought a manual 4runner but needed to get a suv quick. truly wish i had held out and got a manual all my friends have them in there 4runners. but I have a speed 6 also to get my manual fix. also after market support is very very good for the 4runner none for the pathfinder. the 96-04 pathfinders have also been plagued with problems i cant even begin. you may want to consider expanding your search a bit farther even one way ticket. you will be happy you did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that Pathfinder sold this morning ironically. I guess it wasn't to be.

Where do you think the best place to search for one of these are though? Autotrader doesn't have very much at all....

craigs list every city around you for 1000 miles. Texas would also be a great place in general no rust. If i see one will let you know. But you will most likely have to travel.
