my Ol97 3.4 v6 is acting up. I've got lights for battery, abs, and air bags poping up and going away. Had my wrench monkey check it out and was told electrical problems...get rid of it soon. Any thoughts? replaced motor at 265k and still going...not sure if I should move on up to a 2008 v6. Looks like towing capacity is better, esp with hitch change. Any thoughts?

and could use a big tune up this time the rest of the 4runner not the engine. not to long ago i had the brake light check engine light battery light oil light and gas light all lit at once.
Cleaned the alternator terminal. Added oil the dip stick was dry. Changed out the rotters and pads, topped off the tank and That solved my issues.

I'd get a 2008 V8, not a V6.

Go ahead and throw in the towel. Stick a fork in it cause its done. Give up. Trade or sell it and get a newer automobile.
For what its worth, your wrench monkey doesn't know is as$ from a hole in the ground. Go take it and get a second opinion or re-explain (when, how long, what lights, how long they burn, how often, etc) your problem exactly for a proper diagnosis.

Yep, also ground points, like the one by the diagnostic plug and on the fender. Could be any of the above.
