X-REAS and Daytime Running Lights

Members,

As I await the delivery of my Limited, a couple of questions come to mind...

1) I drove a SR5 and the Limited. Personally, I felt some pretty big differences in ride quality on the street (with the Limited being my preference). I haven't read a ton on the differences nor have I seen anything on this Forum. Your thoughts please...

2) A simple question...Are the daytime running lights defeatable?

...and I just wanted to clarify that my post regarding the X-REAS suspension system is more of a question about who notices the ride quality difference (and their thoughts) than what it is..I know that it can be annoying to say the least when somebody asks a question without searching...

I can confidently say there was a noticeable difference for me between the Trail with KDSS and the SR5. The SR5 felt mushy to be honest, the Trail much better for my personal taste. Not sure how the Limited compares but it is interesting that Lexus uses KDSS on the GX and not the X-REAS. Maybe the Limited with its 20" wheels is intended for sporty SUV cornering.

Honestly, and this is personal preference--not a shot at SR5 owners--but we turned off to the 4Runner when we drove an SR5 for the same ride quality reason. It wasn't until I couldn't stand the idea of purchasing a Highlander (no soul) that I insisted that we drive a Limited. The rest is history...

lift with KDSS

I have asked about 5 places and they all say they can't or don't know anyone who can lift a new 2010 toyota 4runner trail edition with KDSS or X-REAS etc. I wanted to get it lifted but nothing is warranty backed and everyone seems very scared or dont know anything about it

I have to agree with you... my first test drives were an SR5 and a Limited back to back. I was probably too excited to notice any difference. Then I went to a dealership (Lakewood) and again drove both models up into the foothills and on some winding roads - that's when the differences became more apparent.

Neither the SR5 nor the Limited are Bimmers, but I think you can push a Limited a bit further into a corner (within reason), than an SR5. For me, what the Limited will do is more than sufficient and fun.

If you do a full lift (not a spacer lift) to a 4runner with XREAS, you will most likely take out the XREAS. Honestly, if you plan on lifting the truck or upgrading the suspension, you should opt out of KDSS or XREAS.
