X-Reas and OME

I've got a 2003 T4R sport with cornfed 3/2. I would like to replace the cornfed with OME Springs. Can I run x-reas with OME springs, If not (WHY). I know longer shocks would be best but just the springs are really cheep. I could talk my wife into 400 dollar springs, then 400 shocks later. THANKS

You can use the OME springs on the X-REAS shocks; but I would not recommend it.

I did this for 12 months. They do fit together, mechanically; but not functionally. The OME springs have a higher spring rate, and the XREAS shocks do not have enough rebound resistance, to control these stiff springs.

When you drive over a speed bump, or rough roads, the shocks will be driven to full extension, with a lout thump. The ride is smooth on the highway; but seems rough off-road, or pot holes, or rough parking lots.

It will work; but do it knowing there are drawbacks. And start stashing money away for proper shocks.

With the OME shocks and springs, the ride is very nice, on and off-road; and you can carry you camping gear, without dragging butt.:)
