X-Reas....any maintenance required?

I've searched the forums and can't find anything about maintenance on the X-Reas suspension....Is there any?

Will it last the lifetime of the truck or will the shocks need replaced? If so when and what would be the cost? I"m thinkin long term ownership.

no worries. Just as long as you don't abuse them, they should last you for awhile. I don't know of any maintenance as there's nothing to really maintain.

They don't really say how long they last, will they need t be replaced at 100k, 150k, I think I read somewhere that their suppost to last the life of the truck, all I know is their expensive if not covered under warranty.

Thanks Thai for the thread. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will last as long as I keep the truck. My worry would be that something would happen at around 40,000 miles....just after the warranty expires and Toyota wouldn't cover it. Repairing it could be mighty expensive.
I guess time will tell.

I've read that the replacement cost is high, but does anyone know how high? And would you need to replace the entire system, or just the "tubes" ?

(I tend to keep my vehicles a long time, thus run up the miles.)

Dealer cost for the front shock is 150, rear 166 and the center control valve is 245. That is per unit price, 2 of each are needed.

These are high quality shocks built by KYB. I have been told (suspension engineer) to expect consistent dampening for 80k plus miles. If there is no leakage, I will replace only my shocks when they no longer perform as expected. This is a judgement call, because of driving habits, some may replace parts sooner than others. The manual gives some guidelines on replacement due to leaks.

Since you have the suspension already installed , forget the what if and how long. Just sit back and "enjoy the ride " .:cheers:
