X-Reas Leak?

I just noticed this evening that I have a pool of what looks like and feels like water under the right front tire area --- maybe one foot in from the shock towards the cetner of the truck. The drip looks like its coming from the hydraulic lines that I think are part of the X-Reas system - but I'm not sure. I did a google search and wasn't able to determine what kind of fluid is used in the X-Reas system.

Is there any way to tell if my X-Reas system has failed and has a leak? In the manual it doesn't appear that there are any indicator lights for failure of X-Reas.

Its not condensation run-off for the AC -- the AC hasn't been run in weeks - not needed very often in Seattle.

I'm still under warranty - only 16K miles on a 2007 Sport Edition.

Anyone have any ideas?

The X-REAS system has oil in it (what kind, I'm not sure), so it can't be a source of water.

There's no good way to tell if the X-REAS has a problem, short of finding a leak or noticing a performance problem. There are no electronics in that system.

Since you're well within the warranty period, you might as well have the dealer look at it.

Thanks... whatever is leaking sure seems to be coming from the hydraulic line... and its doesn't seem oily. Its most clear and odorless. maybe its coming from somewhere above that -- any other fluid sources above that area?

Any chance you had your AC on yesterday or whenever you saw the puddle? I know this is pretty normal for my Runner when the AC runs. All cars drop water when running either the defroster or AC. On this truck I notice that the drain tube for the condenser seems to drip down the frame toward the back of the passenger side, front wheel well and pools just behind the tire. If this is what you are talking about, it is perfectly normal and nothing to sweat.

I agree- If it's fairly humid out, you can end up with a pretty large puddle of water. If it's not oil, doesn't smell, it's condensation from the condenser.
