I recently bought a used 2003 V6 Sport. I enjoy the X-reas suspension and have read the basics on how it works but sometimes I think it is a little too stiff. I have read many posts on different forums where people say the X-reas doesn't make it ride stiffer than without, I've seen posts where some people think it's too stiff, I even saw a post where someone said they thought it was too soft. I know mine rides stiffer than the SR5 I test drove. My main question is can it be adjusted? There are adjustment screws with lock nuts on the tops of each shock (/strut?) Does anyone know what they are for? I'm tempted to crank on them but I know if one gets messed up the whole diagonal system has to be replaced. With all the differences in how stiff people think X-reas is, maybe they're all adjusted differently? I might add a pic tonight to show better the adjustment point I'm asking about.
Any clues would be helpful, this site has been awesome! I've gotten rid of the clunk when I lock the wheels to the right, installed an Ipod adapter and replaced H/U with Scion H/U, added spacers under the front seat for better thigh support, added a grille insert all thanks to help from this site.
Thanks
