Xenon Depot 5000k HID kit

Do any of you have the Xenon Depot 5000k HID kit? I was thinking about upgrading my 07 with HID lights but was curious what the 5000k light output looks like. I was thinking i would rather have the 4300k at first but i wanted to see what the 5000k option would be like.

Lets say i bought a 5000k kit and didnt like the color. Could i buy a 4300k lamp and use that or is the ballast different? I see the actual Xenon Depot kits are a good bit cheaper as well. Whats the story with that? Are the componets not as good or are they just the store brand so they are cheaper? I do see they are a sale price though so it could simply be a promotion still.

The ballasts are the same for the HIDs. The burners give the different color temperatures. You want to make sure the connectors are the same. The XenonDepot conversion kit appears to use a different type of connector between the ballast and the HID burners from the Xtreme conversion kit. If you buy a rebased bulb, you might need to change the connectors if they're different based on your kit, or if the bulb uses the standard D2S/D2R connector (found on stock factory equipped HIDs). The Xtreme kit appears to use an "AMP" style connector which is also used on many kits I've seen on eBay.

The Xtreme kit uses Asian made components, so they're a bit less expensive than the XenonDepot kit which uses all Philips components.

5k HID Extremes from Xenon Depot

I have the 5k setup but haven't had time to put them in (I don't want to mod the truck until toyota corrects the driveline clunk....call me paranoid but my previous dealer experiences have tried to blame everything on the mods). I hopefully have it installed and a write up with the next few weeks.

Im sorry for the delayed response however I am just seeing this thread now. I would suggest emailing me direct (or PM) for the quickest response.

As per your questions:

1) The Xtreme 5000k kit will offer you a very bright crisp white output. The 4300k and 5000k will look very similar however the 4300k kitwill have a very slight yellowish tinge whereas the 5000k will have no yellow at all.

Unfortunately I do not have any pics of the 4 runner with a 5000k kit however take a look at these pictures of our 5000k kit installed in a 300c (also projectors):

2) If you purchase the 5000k kit and want to swich to 4300k bulbs you would just need to purchase new bulbs.

3) The Xtreme line uses Japanese components whereas the XenonDepot line used Philips components. As Uneek said, Philips components are more expensive hence the difference in price.

In terms of quality, you cannot go wrong with the Xtreme kit. We have been selling this line for approx 4 years now with very positive results. The Xtreme kit is specifically made for an aftermarket HID application. The ballasts are epoxy sealed meaning that they are water tight.
