Xenon Depot HID Install 08 4R

Well you all convinced me to try a set of these HID lights. So I ordered a 4300 kit from Xenon Depot. Ordered Monday - received Thursday - SUPER fast!!

No instruction at all, but not complicated. I took pics in case anyone is thinking about doing this but isn't sure. All in about 1 1/2 hrs. including moving a few things for good clean install.

Wiring Prep

Then, pop up connnectors to remove plastic shield over radiator. This allows clean wire installation to pass side.

Relay Mounting

There waqs an existing hole in front panel which allowed for a through bolt (stainless of course). I did similar on drivers side.

Other mounting

I mounted the other 2 components (I know one is a ballast, not sure about other one) . One fit nicely on the side wall, the other on inner fender. I did use the double sided tape to prevent rattling, but used 1 self tapping screw for security.

I was able to pick up a factory ground right on each side and was able to cross over power wire from pass side by routing under radiator support right along factory loom. All wiring is secure and out of sight under pastic shield once replaced.

2008 seems to have low beam "projector style" headlamps and has a very sharp cut off. So, I took these pics slightly above plane of headlamps so you can't see intensity of light, just color temp. the difference is incredible when driving.

Here's both done. I was overall very happy with the quality and delivery of kit, ease of install and the outcome was amazing. If you're thinking about this - just do it!

Looks like a good, clean installation. I know you're going to love the extra lumens at night. I just drove home from the movie theater and was smiling to myself about how nice it was to be able to see everything so clearly with the HIDs. Enjoy!

...note to self oder you some H.I.D.s already...wow those look very nice and it looks like it was all plug and play I want to get some soon 8k
