Xenon Depot HID kit review

I recently installed a 4300k Philips Extreme HID kit from Xenon Depot on my 2003 Limited. Being an 03, I have reflector style housings. I searched high and dry for quality projector replacements, but they do not seem to be out there. Xenon Depot recommended that I stick with my factory reflectors and just install their kit. I did that and could not be happier. The light is extremely white and bright. I have a Cornfed 3/2 lift and this raises the beams up a bit. I did not adjust the beams down and have not been flashed yet. The field of vision is incredible. Street signs are illuminated by me way down the road. Without projectors, there is no real cut off, but that is what it is. I have no glare. I am very satisfied with the end result and recommend them to all 03-05 owners.

Glare doesn't look too bad.

There are plenty of projectors you could have retrofitted though.

please do not say u have no glare, the pic clearly shows glare, for that price u paid, u can spend about 200 more or less and got projectors from theretrofitsource and do it right. i would suggest u to lower it atleast a lil since u did a lift.

Trust me...you have glare.

You being satisfied has nothing to do with the glare issue. Believe it or not, you ARE BLINDING people with those OEM reflectors. Xenos Depo recommending that you stick with the reflectors shows INCREDIBLE IGNORANCE on their part or plain just desperation on selling you their product. I honestly can't believe they would tell you that. Couldn't find any quality projector? I mean no disrespect, but there are PLENTY of quality projectors out there that will EASILY fit in to the reflector. Try lightwerkz.net, they have top notch stuff.

It's been said ad nausem, retrofits are the best way to go, like it or not.

I do really appreciate all of the feedback and I completely agree that projectors would give me a better final project. I need to put this off for a while though. It is officially on my things to do list.

I'm just saying that I do think that the lights look great in my reflector housings. When the time comes and budget permits, I'll look at projector options.

I still haven't decided on what to get my 05. I was thinking bixenon FX (Infinity), but like you said, depends on how "the wallet is feeling"

Glad you're happy with the Xtreme HID Kit.

As discussed, a retrofit will get you the best pattern (ASSUMING it is done correctly). However, I do believe you made the best choice installing these in your factory headlights rather than spending money on aftermarket HALOGEN projector headlights.

If you decide to retrofit your headlights with HID projectors at a later date you can always utilize the ballasts and harness that came with your kit. Unless you plan no retrofitting the projectors yourself count on spending $400-$600 on labour for a quality retrofitter to do the work.

U don't have to get projectors now. please be a responsible driver and just adjust your headlight beam lower

Has anybody flashed you yet? If not then you should be fine.

Those really don't look too bad for a non retrofit.

A halogen bulb in a non projector housing throws off glare too.

I live in a suburban area with lots of traffic. I have had the HID kit installed for over a month now and also took a road trip with night driving. I have passed hundreds if not thousands of cars and have not yet been flashed once. It does not seem that my lights are offensive to other drivers. If that changes I will adjust them.
