Xenon Depot

Kinda had a poopie experience with Xenon Depot and felt I should share.

I decided to go with Xenon due to the raving claims and positive reviews, let me just add that this is not a bag at their products as I am certain they are nothing but top tier.

My complaint is against customer service. I had placed an order on the 27th of December (10% discount sale) lalala with the whole "last day offer"
Thought, why not, pulled the trigger placed the order. The following day(s) I receive an email stating back order until January 1 being the earliest. Ok, I respond that I would gladly wait, again due to raving reviews and to show support from the T4R community. Looked at the site, the discount for 10% was still going. (odd thought last day was yesterday.... Im west coast, they are East coast, whatever let it slide)

Come January 2nd, I get an email stating the mailing slip is made and package will ship shortly. Yay. Checked my mail again yesterday (Jan 3) and shows that the item shipped the day prior and now a 15% discount code is on their site. That's $10.00 USD in savings. Well.... I dont have the item yet, I shot out an email asking for price adjustment... My product is not expected for another 4 days at the least.

Instantly turned down without hesitation. Kind of a shitty deal, I just bought a 2200 tv and after all sales and price adjustments done, I walked with almost 1000 in savings right there....

Can I afford the extra 10USD? yeah, would I like for the 10USD back for being a supportive customer and waiting the extra 5-6 days for my item to ship? I think so. I dont feel like I'm being unreasonable about my request, but I do feel like there should be some sort of 7 day price match guarantee on their own pricing and for those who care to check.

UPDATE::

This is my first dealing with XD and was hoping to be a repeat customer. Alas, this experience had left a sour taste in my mouth and I was not going to recommend HOWEVER in came Steve from Xenon, he reached out to me and investigated the matter. Spent his time and provided me with a time line breakdown of things. He made it clear that the situation is not a norm and would do what he could and for that I respect it.

11/10 would recommend Xenon due to follow ups and efforts made.

Your post makes you sound a bit entitled. Sure, it would have been nice of them to grant you your request but alas, it was a request. You made a reasonable request and even if the outcome was not in your favor, their response was also reasonable. No need to throw them under the bus for such a small matter.

IDK, I feel like the sale price is really meant for the time you purchased. You could always purchase another and return the original if it bothers you that much or see if you can cancel the order.

They have pretty good customer service and are pretty active on here. I know they took the time to answer my questions.

Their pricing is nonsense. It's like Harbor Freight. It's always on sale "for a limited time" when the reality is that the sale price is just the regular price. I think everyone would be happier with them just using a fair advertised price and having a 5% off sale once or twice a year rather than play these price games. It cheapens their reputation without much benefit. And it seems like they have a pretty good quality product with pretty solid support both here and in general. They don't need to play that bargain hunter game.

Hope your product works well.

There’s no argument that I come across entitled to it. It’s a personal experience and having been in the customer service related industry for 10+ years The response I received is a bit shocking to me. Am I throwing them under the bus? No I’m sharing my experience and open forninterpretation. Am I telling others to boycott? No but I wouldn’t recommend.

That’s where they get you with the 20% restock fee.

Yeah, for items like this I typically wait for one of the holiday sales. I think I picked up my kit on the 4th of July or Memorial day sale and it was 20 or 25% off.

My biggest gripe with my situation is that it went from 10-15% just like that. No buffer between. And the fact that my item wasn’t even shipped kinda thing.

Exactly. There isn't a time when you go to their site and not find a *sale* on anything. The percentages always vary. You just have to time it right.

In short, they got yo' ass!

Good products though, I use their HID's & LED's. 2+ years strong.

I’m very happy with my XD HID lows and fogs but that’s BS. If the product has not shipped they absolutely should price adjust. They really don’t know the first thing about customer service in today’s age of internet fora and social media if they think it’s worth 10 bucks to piss off a customer in an already niche market.

He's the antithesis of Canadian.

At my business if you buy something at a discount price that's what you get. It cannot be combined with another sale or returned and then bought again with the new sale. You knew they would be on backordered for awhile and had your out there, but chose to wait. Yes that's inconvenient, but that's how it goes when a discount pops up. Flood of purchases come in. Happened to me when I bought my LED's from them.

If you had been a longtime customer, bought multiple products, then at our business we MAY agree to give you the other discount, but no guarantees. The problem is everyone today wants everything at a "deal." Nobody wants to pay retail price. They never become consistent clients or customers. They look for whoever is having the cheapest sale and that's who they go to.

I honestly try to have sales as little as possible because I HATE those types of clients, but at the same time it's nice to reward those who have been loyal to your business. All part of the game.

Whether their sale price is their "regular" price or not is irrelevant, and is honestly just hearsay unless someone has worked with them.

I just bought a pair of C4 Sliders and about two weeks later they announced they'll be doing a Group Buy in Spring. Much rather would have waited and got a better discount, but I'm not going to try to get a credit or something else for whatever sale I COULD have got had I waited for the Group Buy.

With that said I've been extremely happy with my HID's and even the LED's I had. They make quality products and I just bought some more of their items for my tail as turn.

meh, you already bought them. They gotta draw the line. Or else they'll have people mailing them for refunds after running the lights for a few weeks wanting the most current discount.

I like mine, i just wish i bought the 6k color and not the 5k or whatever. they're still a bit yellow. especially compared to my Rigids. They did offer to sell me just the bulbs at a discount though. Then again, i don't drive it, its a van for the wifey and child.

No offense, but you are throwing them under the bus when you go on a forum to talk negatively about them. Especially when you have only 26 post.

With that said, I feel your pain and I do agree its not about the $10, it's about principal. However, sometimes it is how the cookie crumbles.

How is the OP throwing them under the bus? He stated facts about his experience and that he was disappointed with the outcome. While the amount was minimal, it is not an unreasonable request to ask to honor an existing promotion when the product hasn't even been received. I have done it many times and have been successful 75% of the time.

Welcome to life. I JUST had the same thing happen to me from AutoGeek when I ordered my buffer...placed my order and within 2 days it went from 15% to 20% discount.

Schitt happens...at least I got a discount.

Entitled? I think as the CUSTOMER, you are entitled to the best deal you can get. When a company throws out discounts like a normal practice for their business, yes you SHOULD be asking for more when they throw that down.

I do not know this Xeon Depot place, and I do not know how they operate. But I AM currently dealing with a company (who does GREAT work on embroidered shirts), but every week they are throwing new sales at me- sometimes 2-3 a week. Its overload, but it also makes me wonder what good and real pricing on an item is....

When I see a company instantly end one sale and start another, I am suspicions- and I SUPER HATE when they flash up that deal ends soon.... when it doesn't.

No aspersions against Zeon Depot, I do not know that company; this is just how I feel when I see stuff like this.

I think the greater problem is when they say they shipped one day and they ship another (did I get that right?) There is NO excuse for that. And if I- as a company- cannot comply to a promise I made (to ship by date XX, or have it to you by date YY), I am damn sure giving you something for that mistake on my part- free shipping, and extra 5% off, something. I say this as a business owner myself.

Maybe one day we will live in a world where products are priced for good service and a fair profit AND consumers will accept that. Unfortunately we don't, everyone wants everything the cheapest they can get it and will gladly go to a show room, check it out, ask questions etc. and then purchase for 7% cheaper online.

I don't think OP was wrong in his request or his post but I also don't think XD did anything wrong. It never hurts to ask -

P.S. I do hate the "sales sales sales" world we live in but marketing has proven it works time and time again. Just like how discounted 40% from MSRP - some highly inflated number grabs people and they actually think they saved 100s.

Hi,

I apologize for the late reply but I just saw this thread.

(1) Innovazn: Can you please send me a PM with your order information so that I can review your order in further detail?

(2) Our promotions change on occasion, and if an item has not shipped then we would go in and make changes. However, generally speaking if an item has shipped then there really is nothing that we can do.

I get that this post is about principal, not over $10.00 (I'm not discounting $10.00). Please send me a PM with your order information, as I would like to review what exactly happened.

Thanks for taking the time to post up feedback. Ultimately, I hope that you are happy with your lighting upgrades.

Now this is what I call customer service. Regardless of the outcome, sounds like XenonDepot is a company I would want to do business with!
