Anybody had their kit installed for a long period of time? I'm interested in how these perform after several years of use.

I remember seeing some people comment that they had condensation in their headlights after this installation. Have you experienced this? Where you able to fix the issue?

How long do these bulbs last?

I haven't had mine long at all but I felt the need to comment. As far as condensation goes, I don't want to be a dick, but I'd chalk that up to poor installation. It's not hard you just need the right tools and I'd imagine not everyone went out and bought a step up bit. Even if you needed silicone it would prevent it from leaking for a little while. I'm hoping they last so far so good.

I've had mine in for 1.5 years and no condensation. Like [MENTION=145092]Quicksand~[/MENTION] said...just depends on the installation.
 
I've had mine for nearly two years now and overall they've been great. The only gripe I have is that the bulbs and grommets have come loose twice on me now. Granted both times it happened were after quite heavy off-roading, but if I were to install again I'd likely make my grommet holes just a bit smaller for a super tight fit. The bulbs continue to perform flawlessly though. Just know what you're getting when you put them in our units... lots of light projection which means you'll blind folks even with them adjusted. Overall very happy I did the swap and would do it again.
 
Bumping this.

I like many others jumped on the stock low beam issue right away after purchasing. Went with zenons 5200k philips option (don't see that option anymore). Lights are fantastic no real complaints over the last year + of heavy use. However, I failed to think about how heavily I currently use, and intend to use it offroad. I worry about water ingress. I worry about failures from being shaken apart.

Who has been running these for 2 years plus? Any issues? I was thinking about just converting everything back to halogen when something goes wrong and selling what isn't broken as spares. Or even taking it out now while I know it's good selling it and going back to halogen. I don't want to spend all the money replacing ballasts and all that. It's also more things to go wrong with HID. If your halogen lights goes out you know with 98% certainty it's just a bulb.

I plan on the H9 conversion. Sounds like it's good to go. Thoughts/experiences?

Over 3 years, lots off offroad, lots of water, no condensation, zero issues.

I'm using 35W 4300K Phillips setup with no relays (used the relays for awhile and removed them when I cleaned up some wiring. I'll have to measure the opening but I drilled slightly smaller than they recommended and it gave a nice tight seal on the grommet for the dust cap. The bulb itself is the primary seal, the gasket on the bulb seals it.


I've read more complaints though under the new ownership

I dont run my xenon depot lights while offroading.
I see them flicker sometimes when I'm hauling butt down graded gravel roads and I worry about damage.
 
I have had mine for almost 3 years and zero issues. Have done lots of off road but not at night with the lights on.
 
I've had mine in for a month. Made the grommet hole small. No condensation but I have experienced quality issues. I had a faulty DRL driver on the LEF 9005 unit and one of the xenon H11 bulbs blew after 2 weeks. However, communication with Xenon depot has been awesome. Although I am still awaiting delivery of replacement items. I had to go purchase cheap bulbs OEM replacements from an auto shop in the meantime. Currently, have one side white and other showing yellow tint.

Yeah I would chalk that up to improper installation. Less mechanically inclined individual could easily ruin them.

Misread that. Yeah I have heard some things about that too. I also don't see the bulbs I have listed so idk. It pushes me to want to ditch the setup.

I noticed the flickering/bouncing too. It's one of my nitpicks about the kit. I just run them if they break then I know it's definitely not for me.

Ah yeah I have done several night runs. So far so good. Flickering/bouncing thing is annoying tho.

I bought my kit under prior ownership. I've seen this issues popping up since the change over. Not promising TBH.
 
Mine were purchased under the prior ownership back in December 2018. I just didnt have a chance to fit them as we moved house.
 
i have a second set of xenon bulbs that I keep in the car just in case anyhow.
you never know when one might fail and i dont want to drive w/ one bulb dead
 
Lol, guess I should have researched more, just ordered mine today. If they flicker they will be gone the very same night
 
I have xenon depot led headlights, led fog light kit and Drl/high beam kit for over two years. I have not had any problems with them at all. I would say there output on the fog light kit and drl kit is very bright. The led headlight is better than stock for sure but not as bright as the hid kit I bet. At the time I didn’t want to drill through the dust cap so I went with the led kit instead of the hid kit.
 
I had condensation almost immediately in the drivers side headlight after installing the low beam HID kit.

Installed it exactly the same as the passenger side which included using a step bit.
I removed the bulb a couple weeks ago and noticed the plastic directly behind the rubber seal was warped. XenonDepot sent me a replacement but I have not installed it yet.

Currently I am back to stock including replacement dust covers and the condensation seems to have gone away.

I had the LED fog replacements as well but now have baja sports there. I would recommend just going to the Baja's directly for fogs.

Not so much a flicker as the filament or bulb itself bounces the light ever so while off road. Not the end of the world for the tradeoff of output. But it does erk me a bit I won't lie. Still undecided as to what I want to do.

I had this same problem with mine. They would bounce on rough roads and it was noticeable if it was dark enough. It drove me crazy enough that I finally sold mine and replaced them with H9 bulbs. Not as bright but I don't notice the shake/vibration now.

I did a retrofit in my old FJ and had the same problem. There's enough flexibility in the plastic housing mounting points that you will see the "aftershocks" from the bounce on rough roads if it's dark enough--this combined with the sharp cutoff and light output from HIDs contributes to the problem I believe.
