XM Capable Factory Head Units

I just purchased a new 2008 4Runner SR5 on Saturday. I told the dealer I wanted XM radio. When I went to take delivery Tuesday evening, they told me they tried to install the XM kit and only after installing it found out the head unit in the SR5 is not XM capable. Obviously, at this point a JBL system is not a possibility, since the amps, wiring, speakers, etc. were not installed at the factory. The brochure says a 6-disc in dash CD changer is available for the SR5 (non JBL - standard equipment on the Limited) which is satellite capable. The dealership claims this stereo does not exist, but it is right in the brochure and on the internet. Does anyone have this head unit, and if so does it work with XM and an SR5? I still have not taken delivery of the vehicle and said I would not until they provided me with what I paid for or proved to me it was impossible to provide. I am planning on going back over to the dealership tomorrow to talk to the consumer relations manager and service manager. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Yeah, they are available, almost bought one on eBay. Ended up getting a Scion 1807 and hooked sirius up to that.

Did the dealer get all the XM stuff installed? You could just get a Scion HU off eBay and install it yourself, better stereo than the one that comes in the 4Runner anyway. As long as they have the tuner, cables, and antenna installed it would just be a matter of plugging it in to the HU.

At this point the dealer is lying to you so I would get any promises they make in writing.

Thanks for the help. I supposedly got it taken care of. I went into the dealership again continuing to say the stereo exists and they ended up finding a vehicle on the lot with it. It is supposed to already be swapped out and the vehicle is ready for pickup tomorrow morning. The problem goes back to Toyota more than the dealership. Toyota technical support told both me and the dealer the stereo didn't exist, when the brochure itself show'd it did. It turns out all the SR5's are ordered with the same stereo in this region, so to get the XM ready one you have to special order the vehicle from the factory.
