XM: cassette connection?

I have a 2004 Limited with the premium JBL system, with the in-dash 6-CD player. I also have a Delphi 2 XM radio, which I am looking to install permanently to get rid of the temporary wire birdnest I have now. I know from other threads here that the CD changer plugs into the headunit at the back. How does the cassette plug in? I'd guess it's an internal connection, but is it just a connector to a board or cable, and not a solder connection?

I ask because I recently saw a 2005 Honda Accord EX with the XM radio option, which is integrated into the head unit somehow. It turns out that when you get the XM radio option from Honda, you can't get the cassette, too, so I'm figuring that the XM receiver is plugged into the cassette connection. I don't know if that's right, but if it is, then can the same thing be done in my JBL system? I don't use the cassette for anything except for plugging in my XM radio, anyway, so it would be no big sacrifice to lose the cassette to gain a permanent XM radio connection. Of course, if this is possible, it would sure be nice to have a ready-made connector available so I wouldn't have to fabricate one of my own.

Thanks.....
