XM in 05 Limited

I have searched through the posts on installing xm in this truck and found most of the info I needed - very helpful - now can someone verify that using the PIE adapter toy-03 will in fact work with the 05 model? The instructions say for 03-04, I'd assume they are the same...

My lovely wife was nice enough to ge me the xm unit and adapter for my birthday now I just want to make sure I have my ducks lined up before going to get it installed!

What kind of stereo do you have in the 2005 Limited? I have the JBL 6 Disc changer out of a 2005 and the PIE unit does work.

I have the 6 disc changer also. According to my research, the PIE was the only adapter that lets you retain the bogus rear seat audio (the one they put in and don't give you any headphones for LOL!):bash:

I installed a Roady2 XM radio with the PIE Toy Aux-03 and all worked fine on my 05!!! So i see no problems. I am using it with a Scion HU single disk. This was done yesterday with the new release PIE adapter. I received it last week. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I really like the roady 2 with portability, I had it hooked up to the home stereo all weekend (when I wasn't in the truck!). It doesn't work bad even with the cassette adapter, I'm sure it will be much better once I get the adapter installed.

The Roady2 is a great little unit. I first used it with the FM modulator and the sound was horrible. Works decently with the cassette, but direct wiring with the interface Aux Adapter is the way to go. Plus it looks alot neater without all those wires showing. I really enjoy the XM as well and recently bought the home kit. Enjoy it and good luck!!!

I agree the wires are the biggest issue. I saw another install on here where the guy put the unit in the sunglass holder - that was slick and probably what I'm going to try and do.

I suspect I'll use this at home as much or more than on the road, great to have digital music by the pool :

Very easy to get hooked on XM and not have to be a slave to FM radio/dumb as* DJ's and constant commercials. I just signed up for a year to avoid the price increase.
