XM MyFi in 04 SR5

Hey guys I just got a MyFi XM radio and want to know if there is any way to not FM modulate the thing. I have heard that if you have an aux. input in your HU you can wire direct. Does the base stereo on a 04 SR5 have this? I am almost positive it doesn't, but thought I'd ask just in case. Thanks for the help!

You need an adaptor to add an Aux jack. I have the Mifi in my 05 and I have an adaptor, but I use the FM modulator for convenience sake. The sound quality, while better on the Aux, isn't much different. Plus the Aux jack has a very low volume compared to the radio/cd/etc.

on the 04 there was no built in aux port so you'll have to add one aftermarket. I use a product from PIE and there is another one from USA Spec. Do a search and you'll find them on the forum.

Thanks to you noth for the prompt responses. I am having clarity issues with the fm modulation. I have it set to 88.1 right now, but in certain parts of HOuston I get quite a bit of static. It is quite difficult to set a new frequency because the factroy head units only scan to the next actual station.

I installed Sirius in my '03 4runner the other day. I used the USA-Spec auxiliary box. It has two sets of inputs, so you can also have a direct connection for an I-pod. You plug the USA-Spec box into the CD changer port on the back of your head unit and run a RCA-to-mini jack line from the USA box to your satellite radio. You will still be able to use the steering wheel controls for volume on the satellite radio and to toggle between sources (am,fm,cd,cd-1,cd-2). If you have an outboard cd changer, you would lose the changer with this set-up. I have the single disc JBL system, so it was a a no brainer. I mounted the USA box in the upper glove box area to give passengers easy access to the additional I-pod cable.
