XM Radio on Trail Edition 2011

Hi Everyone:

This is my second 4Runner, my first a 2003 Sport Edition and now a 2011 Trail Edition.

My new truck comes with a XM Ready Radio but I don't know if I need to install just an antenna or what? When I select an XM Radio Channel the display tell me "there is no antenna attached".

I have looked at my truck but can't find where that should be installed, and where I should buy it. I have ask the guys in the Toyota Parts Dealer but seems they don't know a word of this.

Anyone can help?

My wifes new camry said the same thing. Turns out, saying it is XM ready does not mean it "HAS" a satellite radio. The radio is just "READY" for the satelite equipment to be installed. I got a quote for around $400 for parts and labor for my wifes car for OEM satellite. Better off just purchasing a XM receiver from best buy or someplace similar for half the cost. Not sure if yours is the same scenario, but it sure sounds like it. Kind of misleading, isn't it?

When I got my TE 2011, the XM radio is already on and even my trial period expired, XM radio still receives those preview channels. Never had the antenna not installed state.
I think you may need to go to the dealer.

My 2011 TE came with the XM installed and a free 90 day subscription. They may come different in Puerto Rico, but on the mainland, the XM is installed. Maybe your antenna cable wasn't connected properly during the build? I would check with the dealer during the warranty period.

Mine was already ready to play too. Id just go talk to the dealer, say look here. I bought a 40K car under the impression that it was going to play XM radio. Im sure y'all will see eye to eye then! haha
