XM Roady 2 Installation (pics)

Bought my 2004 SR5 last week and got around to installing the XM Roady 2 radio in it and thought I'd share some pictures.

I spliced into the power outlet from underneath and installed an accessory power outlet that the XM plugs into. Since I don't have that many options on my SR5, all 3 blank plates were open so that I could attach the XM receiver to it. All in all, I thought it turned out quite well and without wires showing.

Looks great there! Nice job. Didja put a bead of silicone over the antennae wire in that rubber channel? Just looks like it, that's why I ask.

Not enough room in that flip out part for the tuner. See my sig: I should've took pics of my Omnifi install when I tore apart the console, so you can see how "little" room is available. I think the entire depth needs to be less than .75" or so - including knobs and buttons on the front, and whatever sticks out the back of the unit.

Thanks for the compliment.

Yes, I put black silicone on the top windshield channel and the side windsheild channel to keep the antenna wire secure.

Flip it out and unscrew the padded part - look for yourself without tearing anything apart.

Good idea with the silicone.
