Any recommendations on an install of an XM Satellite Radio System which doesnt require major wiring(something close to OEM) also which doesnt require an FM Modulator. Thanks. This is my first post. I love this 4Runner!!! Look forward to great interaction on the site-Thanks to the moderators/creators for having it!!!

Thanks for the friendly welcome and words of advise.....I am first and foremost a gentleman-unless provoked!!! LOL..No brown-nosing-just grateful that the site exists. This is my first 4Runner and real excited about it. Appears to be an exceptional vehicle. Any "must haves" for this SUV?????

I recommend the Roady2. It matches the Sport trim almost perfectly, and you have several options for hooking it up. It already has a FM modulator built in, or you can use the tape adapter that comes with it, or buy an aux input adapter to hook it directly to your radio. The last option costs a little more and requires getting behind your head unit, but it sounds the best.NYFINEST said:

Check the audio forum here - it's very helpful. Search on XM or Scion HU and you'll find more than you need. There's even a very nice writeup on removing the dash panels to replace the headunit.
Best solution (cause it's the one I picked) is to get a Scion headunit, which is a direct replacement for the non-jbl unit, and a Toyota XM reciever.
The Scion HU looks factory in the 4Runner and sounds a lot better than the stock while retaining steering wheel controls, rear-seat audio, etc. You'll get XM channel number, be able to change channels, see artist info, etc right on the display (with the XM reciever, that is). They can be found on eBay.
