Hey everyone, I came across this post on XMfan.com. Thanks to "Norbert26" for the info. It does work and at least gets you decent quality sound when using the Wireless FM modulator, without Tearing apart your 4Runner. I was frustrated when I was only getting fair sound quality out of the new xm car kit &Skyfi2. Now at least things sound decent and I can enjoy XM again in the new truck. I have the factory Nav system in my 05' limited so I dont have many other options right now for doing Aux in. Hopefully the "Interface" Gods will come out with an interface that will work with the 05 factory Nav at some point. I would like to add an Ipod. For now this will do. Give it a try if you are less then satisfied with your Skyfi2 and wireless FM sound.
Here's the posting:
"I have discovered how to get Line In quality sound from the SkyFi 2 FM mod.
This Tip applies to onwers using the SkyFi 2 in the HOME / Car cradle.
Please follow these instructions exactly :
1) Power On the SkyFi 2.
2) Press Menu
3) Press FM Frequency
4) Turn FM MOD OFF
5) Return to MAIN MENU
6) Scroll down to audio level
7) Press AUDIO LEVEL
8) It should say LINE OUT AUDIO LEVEL
9) Turn this DOWN all the way
10) Return to MAIN MENU
11) Press FM Frequency.
12) Select a frequency that is clear
13) Return to MAIN MENU
14) Scroll down and press AUDIO LEVEL.
15) It should say FM AUDIO LEVEL
16) Turn this up to MAX.
17) Return to MAIN MENU and EXIT
18) you may need to turn treble down a little on your FM RADIO
Conclusion: If you have a clear FM freq you should be hearing UNMuddy clear sound equal to LINE OUT quality . The SkyFi user guide failed to mention this.
Many owners would not know this as the SkyFi 2 ships with LINE OUT audio default at about 3 bars . The LINE OUT audio must be turned down ALL the way when using FM MODULATION in the Home Cradle (car kit owners can check this as well) . Delphi may not even be aware of this as no mention is made of this. This took me a FEW HOURS of trial and error experiments."
