XREAS BS 2003 4runner V8

Hey everyone, new to the forum and I've never dealt with the XREAS system. A couple of questions; how do you tell if you have XREAS and what is the best company to get a lift kit from, and finally does any lift (other than spacers) remove XREAS? I have been looking into one of the OME lifts. SLEE off road says they have an OME 3" lift but when I called OME they said they only have a 2 1/2". Does anyone know if SLEE just rounded up? Anyhow, any info for a newbie wild be greatly appreciated.

I believe easiest way is to make sure is by checking out your struts, if there is a line connected to the shock you got xreas! Itll look kind of like a brake line, it feeds fluid to your strut and as soon as you disconnect it goodbye xreas and hello shower time.

Dont disconnect it! Unless you're installing a new lift, then of course you have to disconnect it.

[MENTION=120462]jdrennan88[/MENTION], if your Runner is a Sport Edition, then you have XREAS. If you have a Limited and are not sure, just look into your front wheel wells, at your shock/coil assembly and look for a hydraulic line coming out of the shock (it will look like a metal, hydraulic brake line, but coming out of the shock. If you are still not sure, just look at your frame rails, just behind your running boards. If you see metal hydraulic lines running on the outside of said frame rails (being held to the frame with plastic brackets), then you have XREAS.

To answer your questions regarding which lifts will "remove" XREAS, ANY suspension system that requires you to remove your shocks, will require XREAS to be removed. If you want higher than the OME lift kit, the most popular kit on this board it probably the Toytec Ultimate kit as it gives you just over 3". Another option is to ONLY purchase the OME coils, and match them up with Bilstein 5100 shocks as the front 5100 shocks are adjustable and will give you that extra 1/2" of lift that the OME shocks will not give you. Any other questions?

Oh, and FYI: THE 4RUNNER DOES NOT HAVE STRUTS!!!! It has coil overs!
