XREAS ? good? bad?

hey guys,
I love 4runners. i use to have one that was great. i am thinking about buying a new 08 4runner, but the price of gas is crazy so im not sure if getting a 4runner is the smartest thing for me to do right now.

i saw in a few posts that people remove XREAS. why do they remove it? i thought it was beneficial to have this feature?

i dont understand anything about cars so thats why im asking here hehe

people remove the Xreas inorder to install a proper 3" suspension lift usually..... or some sort of lift.
Xreas is great, and works on road. However mine and others truck need the capabilities more off road than on, and getting rid of the xreas system hasnt left me with any regrets.....

If you want to lift your truck 3" or more youll have to remove the xreas, otherwise you can keep it all you want!

The XREAS is great. I want to do a lift but then again I dont. When I was going down a very curvy road, she gripped and flew through the turns. XREAS made it run through the turns quick.

If you don't want to lift your 4Runner and drive mainly on road, then X-REAS is awesome. One of the main reason I got the Sport Edition. Try test driving a Sport Edition back to back with a SR5 and see if you notice the difference.

I love the X-REAS system on my 4Runner. In fact, I had to put in a preference request and wait over 2 months just to get a Limited with it (stupid California Regional Buyers).

I makes my truck handle like a dream on curves compared to other midsized SUVs.

If I decide to get another 4Runner, I will also want this or a similar feature.

Just want to point out that you can enjoy XREAS both on and off road. It resists bottoming out on faster dirt sections and offers no impediment to crawling. Very durable, too.

The two main points are: 1. If you want to lift, you probably don't want it. 2. If you prefer a softer ride you may not like it.

I think it works well on/off road too. Its not so much that people don't like it , and drivers spend 99% of their time on road ( even the ones who off road...lol) and it's nice. The only drawback is if you want to lift , then you need to go with spacers which is not the worst thing in the world either , plenty off road with spacers.

Although the Xreas is nice , If you didn't get it a nice set of aftermarket shocks and springs may do well also.
